It seems an ML anime was announced at the live, so here's a thread for that.

Community works / iDOLM@STER Ghosts (Desktop Buddies)
« on: May 25, 2015, 02:49:50 pm »
Recently I found out about Ghosts. They've been around in Japan for over a decade, but they never really took off in the west. They're often referred to as Ghosts, but what they are is like Desktop Buddies. You can interact with them, have dialogue, and whatever else you have the coding ability to add to them.

Here's an English tutorial about making them: http://www.ashido.com/ukagaka/uwintro.html

I was considering making a Chihaya one myself so I decided to make a thread on the topic.

Since from time to time Japanese fans upload content of the arcade version I decided to make a thread to post that in. Other Arcade era discussion is also welcome.

Other iM@S games / iM@S 10th Taiko 15th Crossover Campaign
« on: April 17, 2015, 02:21:39 pm »

Crossover Site: http://taiko.namco-ch.net/taiko/imas-taiko/

The crossover will include in game imas related items, imas songs, including 765 Allstars' new song "Maji de...!?". "Maji de...!?" will be performed live at Niconico ChoKaigi on April 26. Maji de...!? sounds kind of like Machiuke Prince but with Taiko calls, it seems like the songs are getting more like Morning Musume. CG (Star/Goin'!) and ML (Thank You!) songs and puchi characters are also included.

Maji de...!?

The campaign will go on for two months, each with it's own phase. Each week will have a song which are the following.
THE iDOLM@STER
Thank You!
Mahou wo Kakete
Shiny Smile
Goin'!
Machiuke Prince
Maji de...!?

765 puchi characters

I wasn't able to screencap the rest, but the info should be up soon.

Other iM@S games / THE iDOLM@STER Virtual Reality
« on: April 10, 2015, 03:00:41 am »
In 2014 before OFA was released there were some Virtual Reality demos where people could look around the office using Sony's Project Morpheus Headset.

If VR were added to a future iM@S title or spin off how would you react? What ways would you like to see VR used?

Derived products, CD albums & anime / 1111 Production revealed!
« on: March 31, 2015, 06:57:18 pm »
765 pro and 346 pro have fused to create 1111 Production!

It's already April Fools in Japan. 1111 Production is read as "wan fo-", a pun on "one for (all)" and the title being made of four 1s. I hope we get some crossover fan art out of this.

General chatter / Learning Japanese Thread
« on: March 25, 2015, 06:29:14 am »
It's easier to learn Japanese than ever thanks to the internet and many easy to use free resources out there, so I thought I'd try making a new thread on this topic. Even with the help of fan translations over the years and a few officially translated things, there's still many things in iM@S that aren't available in English.

I figured these resources from DJT would be useful to start the thread off with, but if you have something to add that's not there feel free to mention it in the thread.

Community works / Okayu's Drawing Thread
« on: March 19, 2015, 04:14:34 am »
2018 Edit: Here's a twitter account I created to post my drawings on https://twitter.com/Okayu072B_ku & Discord server https://discord.gg/Ny6RM7D

I used to draw but I quit to focus more on learning Japanese. I was thinking recently of starting to learn to draw again. Here's some old examples.

This is probably the oldest one I still have saved from back when CG started in early 2012.

The rest of these were photographed as my scanner hasn't worked in awhile so sorry for the poor quality.

Community works / Producer Name Cards
« on: March 19, 2015, 12:59:55 am »
Producer Name Cards are fan made business cards which includes info such as contact information, online handles, which idols they produce, etc. and are swapped at events and offline meet ups. While these are mostly done by Japanese idolmaster fans there's some English fans that also make them. Even if you can't print some out it'd still be interesting to give it a try making one.
Here's a pretty good English article about it. I'll add more info or examples to this thread as needed. Let me know if you have any questions about it.

Community works / Chihaya Fan Site
« on: March 12, 2015, 03:20:08 pm »
I had kind of wanted to make one of these for awhile being inspired by old anime fan sites of the 90s and early 00s. While it's true that many series don't really need these anymore now that things like wikis and easy to find image search engines exist, I figured that since much of iM@S's content is in Japanese that having such a thing would be handy. As of writing this post the site is still in the very basic stages as I haven't made a website in years. http://utahimerakuen.waifu.pl/

What do you guys think? Japanese fans also used to have some websites and fan clubs dedicated to Chihaya like http://idolmaster.fc2web.com/chihaya-blue/ , and I'd assume the other idols as well, but I can't recall any overseas ones besides this site.

Would anyone be interested in joining an overseas Chihaya fan club as well? I'm not really sure about what kind of things it'd involve yet, but maybe I could make digital cards for it or something.

Welcome Center / Hello
« on: March 07, 2015, 02:11:35 am »
Hello. I realized I never made an intro thread so here is one.

I got into iM@S through the 2011 anime back when it aired. After that I started learning Japanese and exploring what else iM@S had to offer and have been following it consistently since for almost four years now.

Q: Do you play iM@S?
A: Yes. As of writing this post I own iM@S 2, OFA, and Shiny TV. I've also played some of the other games a bit. I'd like to own the xbox 360 games eventually as well.

Q: Who is your fave idol?
A: Chihaya.

Q: Why is your username "Okayu"?
A: In iM@S 2 there's a scene where Chihaya is sick and Producer takes care of her. He ends up cooking Okayu for her. That scene stood out to me so I decided to pick that as a name. My title is also a Chihaya reference, but I'll let you figure that one out yourself.

THE iDOLM@STER / THE iDOLM@STER (Xbox 360) Fan Translation
« on: January 28, 2015, 04:04:03 pm »
[September 5th 2017 Update] This didn't really go as planned at all. However I want to reassure that I still have plans to work on this project.

Considering it's the tenth anniversary of iDOLM@STER and the SP project is currently stalled I was considering translating idolmaster 1 one communication at a time. It would start with the routes not touched upon in SP as of writing this which are Azusa, Ritsuko, Ami/Mami, and Miki. This would be done similar to old translations where the communications and story events are subtitled over (example here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0mb3Eni33A ) instead of inserted into the game like SP. Since this would take quite awhile to do that's why I would like to start on it as soon as possible so hopefully a good amount is done before the anniversary date. What are your thoughts on this idea?
---
Notes: Untranslated in SP idols will be done first. After those, translated in SP idols will be next. The order is listed below. Some communications were censored in SP due to the stricter rating so to avoid any errors these will be redone rather than reusing from the SP translation. Awakened Miki will be included with Miki. Changes to the below section will be made as needed. If you have any questions feel free to ask in this thread.
---
Note: This thread is also for discussing the work in progress xbox 360 version of idolmaster translation

Other iM@S games / Cinderella Girls Gravure for You
« on: January 23, 2015, 02:30:05 pm »
CG is getting gravure for you volumes for the PS3 like the 2011 anime did. Explains why they're making PS3 models maybe.
Here's the source I saw for it:
http://blog.esuteru.com/archives/8029179.html
First one releases on 4/23. Costs 8980yen. There's word going around that there will be codes to get more idols supposedly.

Edit:
http://imasnews765.com/?p=12207
My bad, it does seem that the G4U will be included with the Blurays. So there will be 9 volumes included with the BDs like last time.

Derived products, CD albums & anime / iDOLM@STER 10th Anniversary
« on: January 01, 2015, 03:14:16 pm »
Since it's the first day of the new year I decided to make a thread for this. For now all we have is a logo that was presented at the end of the year stream, but if you'd like to discuss about what you'd like to see this year or post other 10th anniversary related content (official or just fan made celebrations) that's fine too.
