THE iDOLM@STER SP (PSP) series / Shiny Festa on sale!
« on: December 16, 2014, 01:47:53 pm »

To celebrate the tenth anniversary coming up the download PSP versions and Japanese iOS versions of Shiny Festa are on sale. This does not include Shiny TV. The English iOS versions are also on sale for $24.99 each. I didn't see it mentioned as to how long this sale will last but I'll add it here if it's mentioned. It might be until New Years if it's for the anniversary year coming soon.

Commemorating a long running hit  We are having a large price reduction! Purchase the game for even less!

General chatter / Forum activity
« on: October 02, 2014, 12:57:53 am »
Over my time browsing here I've noticed that there's many older posters with a lot of posts that don't post here anymore. It seems the forum activity peaked around when idolmaster 2 was released. Was there a particular reason that the activity has declined since then?

Sugoi Japan has put up a list of anime titles to choose from which includes the idolmaster anime (yes the movie is also included). For those who want to show idolmaster more global support it'd be a good idea to vote.

What is Sugoi Japan's goal?

The vote, organized by The Yomiuri Shimbun and slated for early October to late December this year, aims to extend the reach of “SUGOI JAPAN®!” culture into the world.
A British book series [Harry Potter] has sold over 400 million copies worldwide, but only a few Japanese works have been made into Hollywood movies. Japan is also blessed with a set of cultural assets that, as we well know, have the potential to be beloved the world over. We particularly feel strongly about manga and anime, as well as ranobe and entame shosetsu―the abbreviated Japanese words for “ranobe” (light novel) and “entame shosetsu” (entertaining novel).
We are passionately enthusiastic about the amazing best-selling works in the four genres, and we want the rest of the world to know about it! Therefore, we have launched a one-of-a-kind project called “Sugoi Japan.” Sugoi is, of course, one Japanese word for “amazing,” “wonderful” and “great.”
To make this project work, we need the support of dedicated fans who know the leading works in each genre inside and out and cannot help loving them.
Everyone is eligible to join and cast a ballot in this unprecedented nationwide poll to choose the manga, anime, ranobe and entame shosetsu works that should be given an opportunity to go abroad and become global hits.

How to vote
For the Japan voting use the above link and vote for idolmaster and 2 other titles in the anime section. All you need is a handle name, an email address, your age and gender, then check the box and submit.
For the English voting it should be open later with translated options if you don't want to vote on the other one or would like to leave an english comment on why you think it should be selected.

I didn't see a topic about this. While quite old, it doesn't seem to have been discussed. It's pretty much an imas themed collection of mini games. It includes some song remixes and the ending uses a brand new song called "Rank up!" that I don't think has even been listed. I had actually known about this for awhile but hadn't tried playing it myself until now. I know usually download links are against the rules, but this is the only way to play this game unless you were at comiket years back when they sold it, if asked to I will remove them. I'd like for others to try playing this game and talk about it. It's in three parts.

Some images from the game.

To support OFA some manga have been announced. Here is the article and a translation.
