Huh wow, they still make Sims add-ons? Back in the first Sims days every one was something huge and even if you didn't like the game you at least heard that some add-on is out. Sims 2 weren't that far from that and now... I haven't seen a review of anything except the base game... o_O
Supernatural is supernaturally good!
*hit for bad pun.*

Also:
Continuing with the spoiler talk, Haruka,Chihaya and Yayoi sound good. If I can get some more sim ideas that'd be great. Perferably Makoto or Azusa with Ritsuko...or if your balls crazy, all of Pro.Fairy and Wandering Star..

More info still to come

So, I got the PS3 version. Lets say I wanted to print out a strategy guide...what pages should I print out? Namely from here, the gameplay wiki, and the strategy wiki.
Generally all the info a regular strategy guide would have

Through the power of Youtube, I found this in like 5 minutes because I was bored.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q283HcQs8ag

This is the scene you're talking about, at like 20 seconds in? I'm seeing this instead.

やれやれ…
性懲りもかくコソコソしやがって。

Makes more sense to me this way, see what you can get with that.
If my paypal had money, I would have bought this man a beer.
Seriously.
All I can say now is: "('Love tenderly') the PSP"

Kind of notice that when I play PSP games on a Vita... Despite the bigger screen, some of the more complex characters is hard to interpret. On the other hand, playing PSOne classics, the text is perfectly readable, and that is over 12 year old game (Atelier Elie). Probably has to do with the higher resolution (640 × 480), even though it's 4:3 ratio.

Still, text in Japanese Playstation Vita games should be more readable because of the higher resolution.
Yeah, but I cant tell what some of this is. I actually had to sketch out the kanji for the 2nd line and then double check with someone on Skype

Are you teaching yourself?
Yes,I am!
To either of you: Did I translate to romanji properly? If so,ill keep working on it later.
Lesson learned.
From now on: play old SNES games. *shot*

AKA Heatto is stoopid and needs to make sure he can read Japanese right "Lets help Heat by correcting his translations with constructive criticism."
So, heres going to be my breakdown on what I will do:
1: Grab something I have laying around that I sure-as-hell can't read.
2: Hand translate it(possibly into Romanji)
3: Translate to English. if I have some problem,I will probably bold or highlight a word that I'm unsure of how to translate. I might search up the dictionary for some.
4: Post it here,Possibly in quotes. If theres any terms that someone might not know(I.E if I was translating Star Wars and I said "The Force" in a sentence while someone who has never heard of Star Wars is reading it, an explanation will be in the end)
Why is this in general chatter though? Cause I own more Japanese things than just Idolmaster.
So,Ill do my best~!
EDIT: The first thing ive decided to jump back into a PSP game i hadnt played in a while: a japanese fighting game... Kamen Rider: Climax Heroes Fourze! Note to self: Kanji on a PSP screen SUCKS. things were WAY too tiny.Ugh..
Quote
Kamen Rider W's Storymode,first line:
W ( ダブル/翔太郎)
やれやれ...
在風りもな*くコソコソしやかって.
(*: this might be は, which is ha or wa as a particle. it'd make sense for it being a particle but i need to translate the rest)
------------------------------
やれやれ…
性懲りもかくコソコソしやがって。
Well,I still have an hour before work so lets see what I can do:
Quote
Kamen Rider W's Storymode,first line,Romanji:
W ( Dabaru/Shotaru)
Yareyare...
Zai Kazeri Mo Naku KosoKoso Shi Ya Katte.
-------------------------------------------
Yareyare...
Shoukori Mo Kaku KosoKoso Shi Ya Gatte.

Quote
Kamen Rider W's Storymode,first line,Translated(WIP) :
W (Double / Shotaru)
*Sigh*...
(Exist, outskirts, suburbs, located in) Kazeri Mo Naku (Secretly/sneakily/to move stealthly) (At the end of a phrase: notes one or several reasons) Ya Katte.
---------------------------------------------
*Sigh*...
(Persistance) Mo(wa?) Naku (Secretly/sneakily/to move stealthly) (At the end of a phrase: notes one or several reasons) Ya Gatte.

Let me break down the quote and replys into some several parts
I have been studying Japanese for almost a year and I think you need more than just Elementary Japanese. I say to have a basic understanding, one should at least finish Intermediate or even Advanced Level Japanese.
Let me rephrase that: I have a basic understanding, but right now on the level of Stupid VS Grand Master,my current level of the japanese language is ばか がい(insert ji here, don't know the character for it)ん
Also, you can't really understand what they saying just by looking up the words as the sentence structure is completely different from English. This is because Japanese uses a Subject-Object-Verb sentence structure. For example...

アリスさんはりんごを食べた。
(Alice ate an apple.)
Already know this. I know the subject, topic, object, location, and i think one other pointer somewhere(possesive iirc).
Also, the text is automatic, so you have to pause the Game.
I know this one,as i used to play SP.
Still, to better enjoy the game, one should at least have some formal lessons or self-study from lessons.
Agreed.
As for the dictionary, I use Kotoba (which is under a different name now). But, if you are interested in learning the language, Genki I and II is  good text books to learn from... Just be aware that a mix of short forms and polite forums are used in the game.
Hmm,I was hoping for a more app-friendly "type in japanese word->get meaning" sort of thing but I suppose this works too. Just saying app friendly cause,well..you know
I'm running low on cash since I imported the game and my iPhone is jailbroken fancy

162
As the topic says,I have:
Idolmaster on my PS3
An iPhone(more on this later)
and a knowledge on most of the hiragana(i know whats what, but sometimes i derp out on it since my hand writing is pure and total crap when it comes to memory..unless its something purely trivial. like megaman or the Hex values for the Sonic the Fighters player characters for some godawful reason). Katakana on the way
So, heres my two questions:
Lets say I have a dictionary so,if i dont know a word I can look it up. Exactly how many characters will I have to absorb before I can actually understand the game? (Im pretty good at the sentance structure stuff already)
And second: To anyone who has a knowledge of japanese - and preferably an iProduct, is there any Japanese to English dictionary apps?

You all know how when you are connected to PSN/XBL, They cycle through different title screens when you idle on the title screen?(Starting from Vol 11 currently with the I want stuff and moving backwards on PS3), does anyone have a complete collection of the images from these?I used to have only 2 but I recently lost my external hard drive,so i lost a lot of stuff.I'd like to have these atleast as they make great backgrounds for things(like ipads or ipods for example).
