For audio, get a 3.5mm male-male cable, plug your phone's audio out in your computer's audio in, record (and listen) on your computer. Get the video stored on your device with whatever screen recording app, and edit them together. That said, I haven't tried yet. I may give it a shot later.

As far as I'm aware, there are no documented solutions to record output sound on Android, even if you're rooted; but SCR did get experimental internal audio recording as of last year (Website, XDA). It's not on the Play Store since Google doesn't like apps that break Android's permissions system. That might still work -- but it needs root.

Turns out I need friends for lowly materialistic purposes. Kuh.

734 659 126. Spot the Karen and the message usually full of undiluted truth.

Ah, not Iori Minase. Inori Minase. Name of the actual seiyuu. Not that Kugyuu is bad or anything. Now that you mention it, this is incredibly confusing.

Recently, she voiced Hestia (Danmachi), Chino (Gochiusa, S2 currently airing) and Carol (Symphogear GX).

I read the wiki writeup. I don't think I'm missing much. As you said, character relationships are heavily hinted at if not outright told, and the story of Ra Ciela is retold all along the game anyway.

The end of phase1 is insanely hype. This helped.

I think the time limit put me off. Which is a stupid reason in hindsight because it's not a hard limit to game over, if I recall.

In both cases I'm straight in the middle of the target demographic. Tried Ar Nosurge since I never played Ciel Nosurge or any other Ar Tonelico, and I'm not currently disappointed. I'm missing a portion of the story that was found in Ciel, but it doesn't hamper anything as far as I'm aware. I decidedly like the battle system, and synthesis, while somewhat important in terms of gameplay, is basically a glorified reason to add more character scenes, which I'm all for. Add in some (a lot of) songs and nice boss battles.

I-it's not that I like tsunderes, but damn if Inori Minase doesn't do a great job on this one. Cass a best.

I haven't given up on Atelier games yet. I'll get around to play at least Totori one day.

Started playing Ar Nosurge (didn't play Ciel).
I certainly didn't expect to like it so much when I couldn't get into any installment of the Atelier series. Thank you Gust.

Who were you again?

Jokes aside, good to see you back. I promise I'll visit when I get enough money from's ads to pay the hosting and a round trip to Tokyo.

Cats are still best animals.

Yay, acquired another moba I don't understand. I'll add that to the mountain heap of reasons I should learn the language.

For any Android players, if you were like me trying to play with VPNs and operator settings for hours to get it to install from the Play Store, you'll want to make sure the Google account you're using is set in Japan. This address is the one driving the Play Store since they revamped it a couple months ago.

I feel really stupid now.
Oh, and if anyone else wonders, it seems to work fine with my normal IP and operator properties, and it doesn't seem to give me a hard time with root, despite what Play Store comments say. Nexus 5. HOLY CRAP MY BATTERY AAAAAA

It also seems to accept my Yuros through a non-Japanese credit card, though I didn't hit that button yet. PayPal isn't supported in JP Google Wallet.

Other iM@S discussion / Board opening
« on: August 17, 2015, 09:34:46 pm »
Yep, another board. There are many iM@S-related topics, including ones not covering games, characters, or derived products, but those don't seem to have a place anywhere outside the General Chatter. I'd feel bad sending them there, since they're still iM@S-related.

This board is for those topics. I'm testing the waters for now; I'm still hesitating between this and a board merge with Characters and/or Derived products.

Thank you all for your contributions. I've restored registration requirement for all boards except Wiki discussion.

On a side note, a couple restrictions have been lifted on the wiki to make life better for registered members.

Wiki discussion / Re: I made an account on the wiki.

Hi MetalPredat0r,

The system required a account age of 3 days and at least 3 edits on existing pages before gaining the ability to create new pages, for spam prevention purposes. Unfortunately, this includes your own user page. :(

I've updated the wiki to allow the creation of new pages anyway; you should now be able to create a new page.

However, you will still have to enter a Captcha until these criteria are fulfilled.

Rules & News / Suggestion Box

It's already been more than 7 years since was registered.
I'd like to take a moment to see where we are -- and how we can stand to make things better. So I'm opening a new suggestion box!

I'd appreciate if you could spend your $0.02 here to tell us the things you like, and the things we could fix, whether it's on the forum or wiki (actual wiki changes will go to the wiki board).

As an opening, I suppose I'll ask of you:
  • Do you think the forum and wiki look nice?
  • What do you think would be nice to have, in terms of features or design?
  • Do you use the wiki much? Do you think the forum should be more prevalent on it?
For instance, we used to have a banner with rotating pictures (there's a thread in the general chatter section with a couple of those). How would you feel about getting it back?

Feel free to share your own suggestions and react.

Good luck and godspeed.

For now, concerning guest posting, I have updated the permission sets to authorize guest posting in the iM@S category (excluding request boards) as well as the Wiki Discussion board (different user bases and all that).

Thank you all for your input. I'll dump some points from my mind here.

I reckon anonymity makes it harder to follow discussions and brings many other potential problems to the table. In retrospection, that was a great change out of practically nowhere.
That said, I'd like to tone it down but give it a chance for a while, and turn it off if it shows little purpose in terms of discussion quantity and quality.
Moreover, I propose to restrict guest posting inside the iM@S categories, and outside request boards -- that said, if you do handle requests and are okay with receiving those, don't hesitate to chime up. Setsuna has stopped for the time being.

More to the captchas, it's precisely the reason why this can understandably turn off users -- it's too much a drag even with Wiki links. I'd very much do without those secondary questions, if anything.

Thanks Deviant for your comments. I'm not a UX designer, but I do realize it's a bit of a turn off when it comes to using the forum and wiki.
We had practically no spam since I turned it on, so I thought it was a good idea at the time -- I'll try tuning things down a notch and see how it goes.

Please state the "changes to make the forum and wiki more user-friendly" more specifically. I'm curious.
By "changes to make the forum and wiki more user-friendly", most things are related to the wiki, namely:
  • Making the wiki Main Page lighter (it looks pretty nice since the November/December revamping, but it's still the greatest resource hog of the site by a landslide)
  • Making it the actual home page of, while still trying to keep some emphasis on the forum
  • Have and maintain news about recent iM@S-related events, why not with a calendar
I was also thinking of simply merging the forum and wiki userbase, something that was proposed a while ago on my Talk Page, but this proves to be both technically challenging and potentially detrimental to experience, since a wiki contributor is not always a forum poster. And it doesn't bode well with my conscience since I'm more of a SoC guy.

The majority of the interest of the site is directed at the wiki (something I didn't imagine that when I set it up. Thanks, Google).

Still, I don't want the forum to fall into total oblivion. I'm looking for things I can do to make the experience more enjoyable for us all.

I'll try not to rush things. I apologize for the surprise.

Hey folks,

Surprise to all, I have the privilege of welcoming Okayu on the global moderators team.
I'd say "get along" but I'm pretty sure you already have, since he's an active member of the community.
He has interesting input on the current state of the forum and wiki and how it could be made more user-friendly. You're probably going to notice a couple changes soon enough that head in this direction.

At the same time, in an effort to allow more input to come in, I've enabled guest posting on the forum. Depending on how this turns out, I may enable guest wiki editing in the near future.

I won't be locking this right away, so feel free to speak your mind here.

Oh, and he wasn't promoted because he was a Chihaya fan. Nope. Nuh-uh. Not at all.

EDIT (2015-03-07):
Guest posting has been authorized in the iM@S category (excluding request boards), and the Wiki Discussion board.

And what a mod it is.

Ahem. For now, I've left a notification on his user page. Additional actions will be taken if the situation does not resolve itself in time. The Mamayu wiki user does not appear to be a forum user at all, from what I could gather.

Anyway, you do raise a good point. I am the only active sysop. I'm thinking about adding a couple more.
