THE iDOLM@STER 2 / Re: The Idolm@ster 2 Guide Book

I did a blog entry about it, taking a few photos of it:

Personally I don't think is worth getting, since the only vagely useful thing are the pictures and those are not very good. For me, the best part are the interviews with the cvs, but it's totally useless without Japanese knowledge.

I beat VESPERIA Fes!

I used the Danchou charm and the reporter boost with a Level 16 unit (Takane-Hibiki-Miki) with 5 memory appeals... and even with that is a pure luck showdown between your burst and your rival's.

And I found by mistake in one of the retries that the unit can beat it by themselves with a song score of 80,000.

Using Naranappe the 10th, with Reporter boost. Lv. 5 Memory Appeal. With Naranappe, a Single -> Duo Appeal will fill the meter. Subsequent Trio Appeals will also fill the meter by themselves. Furthermore, you can fit a burst inside Memory Appeal chains without breaking them. So...

Single Appeal -> Duo Appeal -> Burst -> Trio Appeal -> Burst -> Trio Appeal -> Burst -> Trio Appeal -> Burst, regular appeals to the end, burst if you can.

I tried this, but it doesn't work. After a trio appeal, the next appeal is a solo one even after a burst... unless Naranappe follow diferent rules than Danchou or I was doing something wrong. Anyways, Naranappe scoring is too low for VESPERIA, when the rival can rack up to 70,000 points.

Yes, I only collect them.
I collect iM@S cards and the ones based on TYPE-MOON works (Fate, Melty Blood, Canaan).

No? not even for say 3700 yen for 6 signed cards?  ;D
This is what i just won today, of course it's still minus other costs.

Whoa! That was really a bargain!

I also collect WS cards. I have a all the 100 from THE iDOLM@STER booster and a set of non parallel versions of THE iDOLM@STER Dearly Stars.

Recently I purchased all the PR cards via an eBay seller, so now I must focus on the signed cards (I only have Ami).

By the way, I'm selling or trading all the Dearly Stars parallel cards if someone is interested. I have a Ryo signed card too:

And if someone is interested, I have pictures at my blog, too.

EDIT: Removed the non working pictures and added only the links.

Mine was sent by EMS 5 days ago, and now is hold in customs :-[ Considering that I bought a Japanese Xbox along with it, most likely I'll have to pay taxes and wait more days until the custom clearance is over...  :'(

I discovered iM@S after watching the AOU Amusement Expo '04 trailer for the arcade version, when I realized the character designer was the same that did the characters for Lunar games.

iM@S back then barely resembles the home versions...

Derived products, CD albums & anime / Re: New idolm@ster anime

If someone is THE illustrator for iM@S, that's is Toshiyuki Kubooka, that is still listed as the copyright holder (along with Namco Bandai) in every official image released even if is not drawn by him. He did the game covers for iM@S, L4Y and SP, and the official portraits are his work. Both Annindoufu and Tamiya emulate Kubooka style.

Annindoufu joined the iM@S project when she did the pictures for an arcade iM@S guidebook called Platinum Album, and since then she became the main illustrator for printed matter, cd covers and the mobile phone contents. None of her works appeared in-game (well, except the wallpapers in the SP games).

Kiyotaka Tamiya began as the character designer for Dearly Stars, doing all the new characters mimicking Kubooka's style. He is doing the birthday banners and is now the main illustrator for iM@S2 (i.e. the game cover and the official portraits).

Can someone find this early 90s ova  It is about music idols... that fly fighter jets.

The only episode that I found complete is the second OVA:

Coincidentally, one of the idols is called Yayoi...

The game will be released in July, so for now there's only that single screenshot.

A bit bigger:

Also, is worth noting that the sprites were re-drawn with the new clothes for this game, since in previous Taiko games the same sprites are using the 961 clothes:

THE iDOLM@STER SP (PSP) series / Takane and Hibiki Cute&Girly dress
« on: May 22, 2010, 10:13:44 am »
In the latest Taiko no Tatsujin for DS, it seems that Takane and Hibiki are using their Cute&Girly dress for the first time in a game:

Takane in her Cute&Girly dress (Noel Angelique?) already appeared in a WS card:

Hibiki appeared in her WS card with her (most likely) Cool&Sexy dress (Green Forest?):

That means that all their costumes were decided long ago... I hope to see them soon in a proper iM@S game.

The sign is "alpha", and as airgeneralpong said, means an extra criteria.

According to the Producer's Guide:

Rank B - 700,000 fans (in the chart appears as 70万) + win at least 3 Special auditions.

Rank A - 1,000,000 fans (in the chart appears as 100万) + win all the Special1 auditions and at least 3 auditions from Special2 or Special3

Rank S (doesn't appear in the chart until you reach it) - 1,500,000 fans + win all 9 Special auditions

Oh lord, it would've been pretty hilarious if the non-voiced DS characters got songs though.

Not bad!  Is like the Famison 8BIT versions.

Let's see... Hibiki maintains a relation of "teasing buddies" of sorts with the Producer, and despite of truly believe in the lies of Kuroi and the prohibition to talk with 765* staff, she still talks openly with them...

In one of the stories, is revealed that Hibiki came alone from Okinawa to become an idol. She feels lonely and sees in the Producer her absent older brother, so she does the "we are siblings that argue a lot but deep inside we love each other" routine with him.

Hibiki is quite proud and confident with her sexy (female) body, so is not a tomboy at birth. I say she is tomboyish in her behavior due to the relation with her brother because is the only hinted point that can think about.

*Ouch... that was inexcusable  :-[
