are they not going to release DLC anymore?

What I really like about Imas is that it's not very difficult as a practice game and it has strategy. So it's easy to get into and has depth.

At this point I would a new game with an entirely new cast and maybe have the original 13 show up in the story as rivals.

But you have a wide selection compared to OFA at the beginning.  In OFA you can only choose from about 5 songs at the beginning. I had to put up with a lot of songs I didn't like. You could choose from any of the 13 in imas2. Slows songs aren't that bad. You only need the fast song at the very end when you going up against tough challenges.

Ultimately, I liked OFA a lot. However it seems I get burned out much quicker than Imas2. The problem with OFA is that grinding is generally the best way of beating things. I really miss the CD sale mechanic. You have to adjust you strategy to how you have been doing instead of just grinding.

In regards to song count, both games do share the same number of base songs (20).

Oops. What I meant to say was that you have only a few songs at the very beginning and you have to unlock them. The songs got old really quick. This is probably a preference thing, I did not like any of the all star live songs.

While I also enjoyed the laid back-ness of OFA. The problem is that there's no feeling of progress after you beat the game with one idol. When I first started I went straight to the top with Miki and then pretty much just carried all other characters. It was fun at first then it got old really quick.

The jobs are quite boring compared to Imas 2. The fan count and lives in OFA are just annoyances. I hope they bring back the CD sale mechanic in some way.

Hint: Think about what you just said, then think about what was included as base, then the additional songs. Really.

Huh? Is this about me getting the number of songs wrong?

Uhmm... i think i'm over 150 hours by now and i still haven't finished all ex episodes (i plan to do that today though). Granted, i'm relatively slow at reading japanese, but still, many games nowadays only offer 20 hours of gameplay.

The thing is that the bunk of those hours are spent grinding. You want your idols to be a certain level, rank and memory before you take on the challenges. You have to grind towards season goals when you want to do something else. Furthermore leveling up is too repetitive (memory appeals are a pain if you are not lucky). So for me it's more like 150 hours/13 idols= 11 hours of actual content.

Okayu is right OFA needs better replay value. It can get very boring after you get one of your idol into the high ranks.

The biggest problem I have with OFA is the number of songs in the base game. There's less songs than Idolmaster 2 PS3 and you start with only a few songs. Then again, the original Xbox version had less songs.

I really wish they release more episodes. There's really not enough game play content in this game.

I go the joke choice for every idol with 5 memory appeals in the normal events.

There's this event where you can cheer up Mami by telling her "I love you" and end up getting arrested. I really wished we could choose whatever we want all the time.

I don't know whether Leon has been nerfed or not, but it's much easier to win with 4 memory appeals now. I just let her burst first and then burst and burn away her voltage with memory appeals.

The critical thing here is to counter her (almost) every time. You probably want to have one memory appeal after did the ultimate appeal.

I wonder what they are going to do now, that there's no more EX episodes and level cap raising.

Interesting, sacrificing the second song. But real men win rank up festivals straight up.
I find that it's a sure fire way to win if you start by bursting with Haruka,Makoto, or Yukiho and then just counter MAI every time with Chihaya, Miki or Hibiki. This more or less makes MAI end the song with a burst and therefore preventing her from bursting at the beginning of the next song.

Regarding beating Leon with 4 memory appeals. It really depends on the song, some characters just can't do it.

Strangely, the idols that beat Leon with 4 memory appeals got more exp from the event.

The difficult thing about the S1 rank up festival is that you don't have enough time to counter MAI with normal appeals, you have to use a memory appeal. It can get very tough, but tonari ni always win it for me for some reason.

I've already said this on the PS4 Idolm@ster game topic, but my prediction is that the next main Idolm@ster game will either be purely Million Live or a mix of the Million Live girls and the 765 Pro girls.

I know they mostly been doing the Million Live girls, but they still got 2 models for the Cinderella girls. Therefore we can't rule out Cinderlla Girls.

However, either would be nice.
