Title: im@s X-Box 360 photo album and Screenshot thread
Post by: blake307 on September 12, 2009, 03:54:32 pm
I noticed no one posted a X-Box 360 screenshot thread here so I decided to start one.

I'll start off with a screenshot collage I found at photobucket:

If you have any im@s photo albums and screenshots post them here.

Edit: Here are some more screenshot I found:

I have a few Chihayas because I collected a bunch to give to my friend, who wanted to make graphics with her in it. They're not too high-quality or anything, most are screenshots from videos since I don't have the game ^^;

Title: Re: im@s X-Box 360 photo album and Screenshot thread
Post by: nikorai on November 06, 2009, 08:31:37 pm
Hello!
This looks like a thread for screenshots but I can’t find a better place to put what I’m going to tell you.
You can congratulate me. After all these years I finally did it. I bought im@s and a Japanese Xbox 360 (箱○). I ordered everything from play-asia.com. On the whole I ordered 3 packages from them and everything arrived in perfect condition. And I waited for a week for each package to arrive. So in the end the shopping took more than 3 weeks.
And this means now I’m one of you.
The price I paid for the console itself was simply outrageous for me. In Japan Xbox Arcade now costs only 18.000 yen (aka 一万八千円)  but the Chinese guys are selling it for $290. Then I had to pay 200 dollars more for shipment. And finally, we have 220 volts curcuit here and the console is supplied with a 110v AC adapter. So I had to go to a local electronics store to get a stepdown converter. But on the other hand, everything works great and I think that it’s absolutely worth the money I spent on it. The only disappointing thing for me now is that I only have SDTV, and after spending such a big sum I’m absolutely broke. But I’ve already checked how it looks with my 39” projection TV. The picture is not the best in the world but the screen is still as huge as it was when I bought this TV around 5 years ago.

So, now let's look at what I have.
First, it’s im@s platinum.
(http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/th_imas_platinum_photo.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/?action=view&current=imas_platinum_photo.jpg)(http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/th_imas_front.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/?action=view&current=imas_front.jpg)

The package with the console wasn't very big. The postal package had a “Handle with care” inscription on it written with a blue marker pen. It’s very nice, of course, but honestly people here don’t read English so I think that the loaders didn’t bother a single bit about how fragile the contents are. The box for the console itself was carefully packed in bubble wrap. And there was some foam for additional cushioning but in very small amounts. I’m lucky that everything arrived in one piece, and there was nothing smashed.

“How does the wrap with air bubbles called correctly?
- It is called “work has come to a halt”…”

(http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/xbox360_photos/th_xbox360_package_closed.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/xbox360_photos/?action=view&current=xbox360_package_closed.jpg)(http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/xbox360_photos/th_xbox360_package_opened.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/xbox360_photos/?action=view&current=xbox360_package_opened.jpg)(http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/xbox360_photos/th_xbox360_box_wrapped.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/xbox360_photos/?action=view&current=xbox360_box_wrapped.jpg)

I still think that the box isn’t really suitable for sending it by post over 5000 kilometers.

(http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/xbox360_photos/th_xbox360_box_front.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/xbox360_photos/?action=view&current=xbox360_box_front.jpg)(http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/xbox360_photos/th_xbox360_box_back.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/xbox360_photos/?action=view&current=xbox360_box_back.jpg)

Everything’s in Japanese here which is great.
臨場感あふれるゲーム体験
The inscriptions say that you can have a unique game experience enjoying a fantastic participation effect, which is achieved through 5.1 sound, HD, and a wireless controller with a force-feedback function. It’s also mentioned that now many games are republished in the form of a platinum edition and are sold with a significant discount so you have a chance to make quite a big collection of them.

You can make a media center of your xbox 360.

And it's said that xbox 360 is the entertainment for the whole family. Actually I wouldn’t like to have people around when I’m playing my games.

Now I I put everything that was inside the box on the desk.
 (http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/xbox360_photos/th_xbox360_box_contents.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/xbox360_photos/?action=view&current=xbox360_box_contents.jpg)

There’s a 110v adapter, as I already mentioned.
(http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/xbox360_photos/th_xbox360_ac_adapter_110v.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/xbox360_photos/?action=view&current=xbox360_ac_adapter_110v.jpg)

I use this converter (made in China) to make it work –
(http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/th_xbox360_electricity_wires.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/?action=view&current=xbox360_electricity_wires.jpg)
It runs perfectly.

The box also has a LAN cable but it's very short. My TV is on the other side of the place of Internet connection.
It is also supposed that you attach your xbox 360 with a composite cable. No, thank you. I’ll refrain from doing that. Instead of doing such a crazy thing I bought a component cable.
Then we have a controller (joystick) – 1 piece. And a battery, 2 pieces.

Now, the console itself.
(http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/xbox360_photos/th_xbox360_console_itself.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/xbox360_photos/?action=view&current=xbox360_console_itself.jpg)

Xbox 360 is fool-proof. The disc tray has an explanatory note on it -
「ディスクを入れたまま本体を動かさないでください」
“Please do not move the console with a disc inside.”
(http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/xbox360_photos/th_xbox360_warning_dont_move.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/xbox360_photos/?action=view&current=xbox360_warning_dont_move.jpg)

The menu has a multi-language support, including Russian but I stick to Japanese (or maybe you’d prefer el portugués?).

I liked very much the wireless controller. It can switch your console on and off remotely.

On the whole it's much more advanced than ps2.

The console is also very quiet. Considering the fact that it’s much more powerful than the ps2 its fans are only a little bit louder than those of the slim ps2.
But when the DVD drive is working the walls in the apartment begin to tremble.

Speaking of games. Beside im@s I also ordered Dream Club. I just felt that I can’t go past it.

Congrats.  I remember the day when I received my 360 to play iM@S.   But it was, indeed, a huge dent in my wallet.

Depending on your HDD (if it's 60GB or more), I highly recommend installing iM@S to your HDD.  It will get rid of all that noise the 360 makes when playing games, as it doesn't need to read the disc.

The same event also happened to me about a week ago.
Now I've seen that I'm not the only one who crazy enough to buy Xbox 360 just for playing iM@S.
I'm also broke because of it; still, I feel iM@S is worth playing.
Let's celebrate! :D

Thank you.

Er, I bought the arcade version without any HDD so it seems that I'll have to buy it separately.
But thanks for the suggestion. It's a very good idea because it will indeed spare me from hearing this noise.

I absolutely agree with you. The purchase was worth the money because it makes me happy.
I'm already celebrating being in a good mood.
Or we can even have a glass of something of your choice. As people in Dream Club (and not only in Dream Club) say - kampai!

This is why I just stick with im@s SP and DS, because importing all that stuff is just way too expensive for me. ):

Oh well, SP and DS are still great. XD

Oh, don't worry, I'm not trying to change your opinions. In fact, I would LOVE to play the 360 versions, but I can't because it would be too expensive for me at the moment. ):

Yep. I can pretty much understand you. I actually couldn't afford an xbox for years. I once kept in touch with a french guy at animesuki.com forums. It was actually him who told me about im@s. I was watching that horrible Xenoglossia and he said that the anime was all wrong but the there's a game which is awesome and it is for xbox 360. Then I got attached to im@s but as I said, getting an xbox was out of question. I was pretty busy with studies, too. But finally I decided to give it a try. And I think that I did that in time. Now xbox 360 is still a modern console and I have time to play games, too.
Of course I'd recommend you to get the console yourself but I can pretty much understand the difficulty with spare funds. I waited for this moment for two years myself, you see.

Meanwhile I got some new devices.
First of all, I wanted to get an audio amplifier for a long time. The thing is, I live with parents and I can’t keep the volume high. So I use headphones instead. Until now I used a switch from line cables to mini-jack and I attached my headphones right to the cables. It works actually but this way you can’t adjust the volume. In fact, you can adjust it using in-game options but even if you set maximum volume the sound is still faint.
Now I solved with problem with this device. Of course the amplifier is very cheap (just over $130) but it works perfectly. You can adjust the volume and it has all the necessary connectors. Line inputs and a jack for output is just what one needs.

(http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/th_headphone_amp1.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/?action=view&current=headphone_amp1.jpg)(http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/th_headphone_amp3.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/?action=view&current=headphone_amp3.jpg)(http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/th_headphone_amp2.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/?action=view&current=headphone_amp2.jpg)

Then you know that I like to take screenshots. A few days ago when I was playing Dream Club I accidentally smashed my HP 715, a very old camera. It fell to the floor lens first. The lens is intact but I broke the zoom mechanism. So instead of repairing it I bought a new dirt-cheap Canon camera (Power Shot something). It generally produces nasty photos but it’s better that nothing.

For example my laptop display turns out like this:
(http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/th_laptop_disp1.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/?action=view&current=laptop_disp1.jpg) (http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/th_laptop_disp2.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/?action=view&current=laptop_disp2.jpg)

You might’ve noticed that I got a new display and made some changes on my desk. And I’ve been attached to Really? Really! theme for several years now (since the release to be exact). So I still keep it despite the changes. I’ve made a photo for the occasion.

Here’s my upgraded workplace. I tried to swipe the dust from the desk as best I could but there are still some white spots left. Sorry for that.
(http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/th_nec2490_on_desk.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/?action=view&current=nec2490_on_desk.jpg)

Now I moved my laptop below the desk and attached a separate keyboard as you can see. Now it’s much more comfortable to sit in front of the screen. First, the screen itself is large. Second, when you type on your keyboard there’s no frying pan effect. That is, the surface remains cool.

To keep on track. I'm still producing Miki.
We work in this awesome building and Miki is happy (pictured office vernacular).

Hello!
Yesterday I finally got my package which was supposed to arrive last year. I tell you now because I immediately started playing and was too busy to send you a message.
Here’s what I got.
 (http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/package_100111/th_package_100111_closed2.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/package_100111/?action=view&current=package_100111_closed2.jpg)(http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/package_100111/th_package100111_contents.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/package_100111/?action=view&current=package100111_contents.jpg)
What's inside?
1. An extremely useful thing – a 60 gb hard disk. It’s sold with some old game demos installed on it.

Beside the device itself the contents include a wired headset, a lan cable which I don’t need and Live Gold subscription for 3 months (or as Japanese write – 3 month). The HDD is the official Japanese version, comes with nice instructions and all.
I had pleasantly surprised to know that it’s very easy to attach it to xbox. You just put it on top of it and the disk is ready to be used.

I downloaded a pack of demos from Xbox Live. My connection turned out to be fast enough to get them quickly. I use ADSL and get 600 mb in 5 minutes. Howevery every now and then I experience problems connecting to Xbox Live. Yesterday it kept telling methat it’s impossible to set up the connection for 30 minutes. At some point however, it finally connected and worked perfectly. I  don’t know how to explain these delays.
Beside the hard disk I got

2. IDOLM@STER Live for You!
(http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/package_100111/th_l4u_box_photo.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/package_100111/?action=view&current=l4u_box_photo.jpg)(http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/package_100111/th_l4u_front.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/package_100111/?action=view&current=l4u_front.jpg)(http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/package_100111/th_l4u_front.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/package_100111/?action=view&current=l4u_front.jpg)

And
3. Oneechambara Vortex.
(http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/package_100111/th_onee_chambara_box_photo.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/package_100111/?action=view&current=onee_chambara_box_photo.jpg)(http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/package_100111/th_oneechambara_front.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/package_100111/?action=view&current=oneechambara_front.jpg)(http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/package_100111/th_oneechambara_back.jpg) (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh307/nikorai/package_100111/?action=view&current=oneechambara_back.jpg)
I played onee-champon back when I was actively using my PS2. And I enjoyed the game. So I decided to get another game of this series. But I haven’t checked it. There’s actually  Futaba Riho, who appears as guest in Dream Club because you know, the publisher of both games is the same.
I
downloaded Colorful Days (for 1200 mp, that is) right away. It’s an awesome song, I couldn’t miss it. I ordered another pre-paid card to get Kirame Kirari as well.
The visuals in Live for You! are incredible. Chose Iori (long time no see since the original im@s).

Man. All these graphics look amazing! I have the iDOLM@STER Live Foe You OVA dvd, and it has remix b previews on, The graphics are so amazing~!
I wish I had idolmaster also!
I keep nagging my older brother, Who's currently in Japan, to buy it for me so he'd never have to worry about getting me a birthday present or Christmas present. But he just keeps saying "I love you in dollars, not yen"
Uuuu... But I must save up all I can!
FOR iDOLM@STER!

I don't have the funds right now, but next year once I'm able to get a job I'll start saving up for a Japanese XBOX360 and The IDOLM@STER 2, which is coming out soon. Close to where I live there's a store called Pink Godzilla and they sell both The IDOLM@STER Platinum and L4U. Or perhaps next time I'm able to take a trip to Japan I'll buy it, but that too will be in a couple years. Last summer when I was in Japan I was at first planning on buying Dearly Stars, but then I changed my mind and decided to splurge on a blue PSP and the IDOLM@STER SP versions Wandering Star and Perfect Sun. I'm saving up for Missing Moon right now. ^^
