A new PS3 game coming up but it's not iM@S 3...

Kyaa! Those outfits during that Taiyou no Jealousy bit... :3

We Have a Dream is back. "Let freedom ring!" That PLUS the outfits from the recent summer fes? I love them! They almost remind me of a more rainbow-esque version of Live 4 Venus, one of my all-time favorite Extend outfits.

"(something) Prince"? Is that a new song? Sounds pretty cute. I wonder if it's from the same writer as Kyun Vampire Girl...

I like how they advertised my favorite songs, and new ones to Shiny Festa.

It still doesn't make the game any better though, I wouldn't buy it.
Not sure if they are, but if they are, Pre-rendered videos is such a waste of disc space when you have a good processor.

Well, they say it's like a shell for all your Im@s games, and a container for all your Im@s stuff, as well as a news portal of some sort.

Bottom right of pic: The two icons (TL: in the bottom left screen cap) suggest two new titles are being planned, but details are not know.

So, not an actual game as far as I can tell. Though why should I have to go through this to get to any future Im@s games, and is it possible to just play them from disc anymore...

EDIT: Oh yeah, vid says Idol Produce game is in production on PS3. I predict spin-off/non-numbered addition on PS3, then full-blown Im@s3 on PS4. DISCUSS.

Yay! They brought back Taiyou no Jealousy! And the costume that goes with it looks really pretty, but I didn't see a lot of it. And that new song sounds awesome, it has a very modern idol sort of feel.

 I like the new costume for that song like Zeta says it looks like a colorful version of Live for Venus. God, Live for Venus brings back so many memories of when I first got into the franchise watching l4u PVs on YouTube. ;_;

Also TEETH. Ami and Makoto's toothy grins~

YAY!!! "We Have A Dream" is back with Hibiki and Takane!
Although, I'm really confused as to why there is no mention of LIVE in SLOT on the official website...

Then suddenly Dearly Stars 2.
Just kidding.

That's funny and depressing... Although it makes me wonder if they'll bring back 876PRO for the Gravure For You! volumes...
"Machiuke Prince" looks like such a fun dance, and the Midsummer Campaign Dresses turned out great.

So far the returning PV's are:
Otome yo Taishi wo Idake!!,  GO MY WAY!!, Kosmos, Cosmos, MUSIC♪, Kiramekirari, Kyun! Vampire Girl, Yakusoku, READY!!

New PV's so far:
Machiuke Prince (sung by: 765PRO ALLSTARS)
Taiyou no Jealousy (sung by: Haruka Amami, Mami Futami and Hibiki Ganaha)
Ai LIKE Hamburger (sung by: Yayoi Takatsuki, Ritsuko Akitzuki and Miki Hoshii)

Matane, Aoi Tori, Kazahana, and Ippai Ippai are confirmed for SHINY TV DLC!

(Although the source completely mislabeled Ippai Ippai as SMOKY THRILL)

iDOLM@STER Channel and the PS3 release of iDOLM@STER 2 just make me want to think I should never buy something from Scamco the moment it comes out.

What do you think of iM@S Channel? I like how there are different phrases when you log in depending on what time it is.

I wish I could understand that. Anyways, for now at least they have the karaoke tracks for GO MY WAY!!, We Have A Dream, relations, Kiramekirari, and MUSIC♪ in the background. I like that for setting the scene. It's kind of weird adapting to the timing in Stage mode on the PS3 but with time I'll get it. Now only if my PSN card came in so I could listen to a full Machiuke Prince, I'd be happy.

Yeah something about ShinyTV seems like the notes don't move as smooth as the PSP and iOS versions. You get used to it though

Here's a video I just took of the brand-new Shiny TV song: We Have A Dream (http://youtu.be/yAx3-3NRcUI)

(Yes, my play is bad and I should feel bad. Still don't have it calibrated right for my home theater gear.)

Aoi Tori got teased for set 4.

They definitely changed some old songs up as well. I'm having trouble beating the high score challenge for Kyun Vampire Girl on Master difficulty. I could beat that song on the iOS and PSP versions easily n_n

It could just be I haven't gotten used to this one yet. Playing on a controller instead of a device I have to look down at is probably a big factor at the moment. I'm also really missing the Taiko drum sound effects I had for the notes, something about that big thump really helped me concentrate.

I think I'm falling in love with Machiuke Prince. It sounded epic in the preview, but even better watching the full song/coregraphy. (hopes edeN will become available as well in the future).

Well to start... CHU-WA!

In all seriousness, after getting home from work, I downloaded Haruka's pack. Machiuke Prince is freaking awesome. Watching MUSIC♪'s animation on a TV was really nice in HD. All the others were good. Otome yo Taishi wo Idake!! now has a third video entitled Gravure mode that has a set from the Gravure 4 U of Haruka. Shiny@TV has challenges for songs. The real simple stuff is just getting over a specific score that raises with difficulty. The harder ones cut lines in half and make all the notes single color indistinguishable from each other. An example of the is Kosmos, Cosmos. Duels are now with Million Live characters. Come up against Kana Yabuki and and Tsubas Ibuki. Songs are set and you can't pick.

All in all it's fun. I'll pass on Cheer and wait on Mystic, because I would rather listen to Matane.

And to finish, CHU-WA! CHU-WA!CHU-WA! CHU-WA!CHU-WA! CHU-WA!CHU-WA! CHU-WA! YEAH!
Crazy good song.

I was really surprised to see that the demo for G4U1 is pretty much the whole thing. You can only take pictures of Haruka, but you get her story section and you can do all of the other stuff like customizing the BGM list or listening to Ami's loading song in the bonus menu.

But man, if your controls are set to non-Japanese, every menu is a mess. X becomes both confirm and cancel and it's impossible to quit the game without quitting iM@S Channel entirely through the XMB. The original releases didn't have that problem.

Duels are now with Million Live characters.

Only with them? Any idea if they cut everyone else? Or are they just an addition?

Yeah, pretty much only Million Live girls. I'm overall not into that franchise very much. I would've preferred to see Cinderella Girls, 765, 876 and 961. But I'm loving the DLC, can't wait for the Takane pack. However, with it coming out just a week after the first two, I'm scared to think that Namco could be releasing these weekly!? I love my aidoru and will likely buy whatever SHINY TV stuff is released, but I can't do it quite that fast! LOL

Took me forever to figure out how to play G4U after playing Shiny TV since the controls in G4U are Western if you're playing on a Western PS3. ^_^;;;

Just a quick question: what exactly unlocks when you get a character to A Rank in Shiny@TV? My Japanese isn't that great but I can make out "Icon," but what exactly are these used for and where can you access them? Are they Avatars for your PSN account or something?

I'm pretty sure you just unlock different note skins.

Nothing really huge, but at least it's something.

Would anymore more proficient in moon than I like to tell me what the news item was today? Something about a login special promotion for navi costumes for all thirteen girls. Was it just saying that it started? I didn't get anything today, so...

The kanji at the end is lost on me.

I hadn't checked the JP PSN in a long time and totally missed all this. It appears though that all the G4U are only 1500 yen through the channel... am I reading that right? It seems too good to be true.
Title: Re: iM@S Channel
Post by: Daverost on February 05, 2014, 01:24:35 pm
It's true. IIRC, the first volume is actually cheaper than that. (600 or something? I forget. It's probably in the topic somewhere.) I think volume 9 is still not out yet, but the others all are.

I had some control issues with the demo version of the first volume compared to the actual retail versions of G4U, though. Circle seemed to be both confirm and cancel on an NA system and it was causing some weird problems for me. That doesn't happen on my G4U1 disc.

I think you're right, I noticed the same thing on the demo. I couldn't quit, since it tried to quit and select a mode at the same time!

Would changing PS3 system language to JP fi the control issue?

Pretty sure that doesn't help any as that problem has to do with controls instead of language.

As far as Accept/Cancel bindings, the PS3 usually piggybacks on whatever your hardware was designed for. So, when you plug in a Japanese game into an American PS3, Cancel is O and Accept is X. If you plug an American game into a Japanese PS3, it's the other way around.

Based on what I'm hearing, it could be that the demo controls only takes the system's cancel button, and for some reason sets its own accept button to Circle. Which means, short of changing your hardware (i.e. buying another PS3), there's no way to get around this. This also makes me curious to know if there's button configuration in G4U (since... I guess I can't think of any other place it could be coming from, except for plain hardcoding).

I don't think changing language should have any effect, but since it's really simple to do, you can still try it.

What's odd about this situation is I've played both American and Japanese games on my PS3 and G4U's iM@S Channel version is the only one I've had with this problem. The disk version works okay however. If I remember correctly it depends on the game on what X and O will do. For example idolmaster 2 uses X as accept and O as cancel like here, but Shiny TV uses O as accept and X as cancel.

Same, I have tons of imports for PS3, PSP, Vita, 360, and DS, and iM@S Channel G4U is the only thing that has ever done this. Disc G4U isn't a problem.

Some games will say Circle is confirm and X is cancel but use the International selection options because I have an NA console. Some will just force Japanese selection on you. This is the oddball that seems to want to do both at the same time.
