What are the size limitations, if any? What are the maximum dimensions allowed? And can they be animated?
I'm currently working on a sig, and this information would be helpful. I won't make anything too big or flashy, I just need references.
Thank you for your time.

I've seen people here take like 800px worth of vertical space with gifs on their sigs and no one ever complained so I guess there's no problem lol

Heh, okay. Thanks for the quick answer.
And my sig will be simple. I was just wondering if there were any rules besides the no-NSFW rule.
EDIT: Well, here's my first attempt. I'll give it another shot when I'm feeling creative. I'm still an amateur when it comes to photo editing.
EDIT 2: Erm. It shrunk. But I don't think it will bother anybody at this size, so I'm fine with it. Lol.

I think a way to keep your signature from being shrunk to 100 pixels tall is to split it in half, and then stack the two images one on top of the other.
-
I shall try that. Thank you for the tip.
EDIT: Hm. This seems a little large now.

Dou itashimashite! :D

Maximum dimensions of signature images are 800x100. Currently there is no line or image quantity limit. You can use animated gifs; I personally don't like those too much, but after this it's a matter of personal preference. As SakuraMaxX posted, some people like stacking up and taking vertical space.
Might fix this later, but I guess its okay for now. I intend to crack down to 3 lines and 2 images maximum on next big maintenance, but I guess that's negotiable, so tell me what you think about it here.
Will give you the time to update, too (existing signatures not matching new rules are emptied).

Switched back to my smaller sig. I'll keep the dimensions in mind when I make my next one.

That's what happens if your signature surpasses the required dimensions- the forum shrinks it down so the dimensions would visually fit the set dimensions.
There is a way around it, but I don't recommend it, since you'll eat up your overall signature limit (plus it may be a hindrance on people with slow net speed). I'm using it now and that's probably why the max image count's gonna come down. lol
