Another year, another topic.
Who's looking forward to what? I'll give you the rundown on what I'm looking forward to:
Microsoft: Dance Central 3. That's all I really want, sadly.
Sony: Vita support. Lots of Vita support.
Nintendo: Animal Crossing 3DS release date.
-
I'm really hoping they're going to announce Monster Hunter 3G for a stateside release or a new Monster Hunter for Vita.. As well as a price drop so I can buy one! ;P
-
I never got into Monster Hunter. I tried.
I would love to try again on the Vita, hell, console even.
-
I'm dying to hear more about Tomb Raider, Star Wars 1313 and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
-
I'd be curious to see if they announce any news on bringing Phantasy Star Online 2 or Dragon Quest X stateside.
Also I know it may be a little too soon, but a trailer for the next Smash Bros would be nice too.
-
Forza Horizon, that is all.
-
O-o babe, babe.
O-o babe, babe.
LMFAO!
MS conference ranging from meh to terribad with one or two shinethroughs of good...
-
Meh. :-\ I was expecting more, but BO2 wasn't what I expected to be. Treyarch you dissapoint, but hopefully your MP or Zombies will change my mind.
-
25 to 30 demos of new PS3/Vita games. (http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/05/29/playstation-at-e3-2012-watch-live-attend-the-press-conference/) So how many games will be there at all? :)

I was pretty spot on with my expectations with MS's conference: it was crap, but had a few interesting things in there. Looking forward to the new Splinter Cell and Forza Horizon.
-
Horror in Dead Space [']
It's Gears Of War now... :-/
Madden is Twitter simulator. ;)
Night-, nigtmare, nightmare mode in SW:TOR. :p
New MOH may be as good CoD as MW1. Also GROM.
I think Crysis 3 is a pretty cool guy. eh takes down heilcopters with bows an arrows and doesnt afraid of anything.
-
I pretty much use Nintendo consoles and games exclusively, so I'm waiting for their presentation. Mostly excited for Wii U info and hopefully something about a Zelda game, as those are my favourite video games.
For those wondering, it's not that I dislike other games, it's just that I like Nintendo games the most. Personal preference.
-
I am hoping for a Fire Emblem Awakening, or Fatal Frame 2 Deep Crimson Butterfly NA release date.
-
Watch the Ubisoft conference intro and roll on the floor laughing as I do!
Ubi showed tits, the feedback maxed out on GameTrailers... :D
Actually, it looks nice. It has this Bioshock vibe...
Rayman Legends looks like Rayman 2 in 2d (=awesum!)
Well, *cough* ZombiU... *laughs*
-
Ubisoft's conference is going alright, but atleast it was better than Microsoft's.FarCry 3 was like something you would experience if you were on Hallucinogens which is I guess is good?Nothing blew my socks off like Halo 4 did so I am just going to have to wait until Sony comes out. 8)

"Nonspecific action figure"
I love it.
-
In response to the embarrassment of Microsoft at this year's E3, let's remember the other two years of them not seriously focus on gaming...

Entirely horseshit so far.
-
Absolutely incredible that the best conference was held by Ubisoft. Well deserved too.
Microsoft and Sony might have found their answers to the Wii U gamepad, but nothing can beat how absolutely amazing Watch_Dogs is, in concept, and gameplay.
I was severely disappointed in every keynote, except Ubisoft's.
-
Most disappointing year yet .>:( Microsoft and Sony need to release their consoles in one or two years or they will fall.On a good/bad note the Xbox is top selling worldwide CURRENTLY and the PS3 has taken quite a hit for many reasons.
-
I completely forget about this every year. Looks like there's a reason for that. ^^;;
-
I think everyone on here is a Negative Nancy.
Some things were pretty cool. Admit it.
-
I can't really bother to follow these conferences in real-time. I prefer for news sites to digest the information for me. But the games I'm interested in, I'm usually made aware of before conferences roll around.
-
My unstable net (with its slow speed) makes me not try and catch the streams. I'll read upon them later when someone has done a text report.
Though admittedly, my #1 reason for caring about E3 is Nintendo, regardless of their plans. That doesn't mean that I don't read up on everyone else's. :3
-
i think i'v never been less interested in an E3. there is simply no game at all announced to be shown which i'm really interested in. And oddly enough even the Wii U doesn't interest me that much, even though i grew up with Nintendo consoles.
And from what i'v seen my expectations were fully met this year: nothing interesting at all so far.
When is the Squeenix press conference? I'm still hoping for The World Ends With You 2...

That time has come and gone, for better or for worse. Before, Nintendo and Sega were going at it, now Sega doesn't make consoles and Nintendo is content with sitting in its corner doing its own thing.
Or rather, maybe Nintendo's kinda weeping in that corner for the past decade, seeing as they could have made the Playstation but didn't. (But that's probably an involved story that I don't know the whole deal about, so I'll just let it stop there.) I think after a while, they understood they had to be different to survive, as after the N64 and the Gamecube, I don't think they had the traction to flex any system spec muscle - my friend described each successive Nintendo console as two of the previous ones taped together (i.e. the Wii is two Gamecubes taped together). They just kinda do their own thing now. Maybe developers do stuff for them, that's cool and they certainly don't mind, but it looks to me like they're just fine with making their own console, then making their own games on it and nothing more. Who knows if things will change with the new console, I'm not holding my breath.
But back on topic, E3. Most of the time, I usually hear about games around (sometimes I'm not quite sure how), and not really because they were unveiled at E3. If there's any new technology they're trying out, that's cool and I'm all ears, but other than that, I know where the news sites are.
-

I second that. ;D
And yeah, not much good is coming out of this E3, sadly. :-\

Uhh, I did. Sadly, Microsoft and Sony made horrible decisions on what to show this year.
-
Nintendo conference started.
Pikmin 3, not very interested.
New Mario Bros. Social additions not needed. :-/
Pimped-out Batman AC
Scribblenauts Unlimited
Some trailers - nothing really worth noticing, except Heihachi in Tekken getting bigger with the mario mushroom sound...
Wii FitU - also using the gamepad itself. *facepalm*
Some karaoke with lyrics on the gamepad, not the TV.
New 3DS mario - lots of golds
New Paper Mario - also for 3DS
3DS Luigi's Mansion - shouldn't they be talking about 3DS on a special conference?
LEGO GTA ;-p (not really), still based on LEGO Star Wars mechanic. :-/
Just Dance 4 - Reggie, you are the puppet masters!
ZombiU - 1 bite = dead. Me likes.
Nintendo Land - new Mario Party? Nintendo Home? I dunno...
It finished. Expected more. Actually far more considering they have a new console...
-
Well, everyone basically showed what they have, minus Nintendo's 3DS conference that will happen tomorrow. Here's my rundown:
Microsoft:
+ Halo 4 has Metroid vibes. The new enemy is extremely cool, and the graphics look great for such an old system.
+ Smart Glass could have huge potential, at this point in time, a lot of people should already have a capable device for the feature.
- Usher ruined the only thing I wanted from Microsoft, Dance Central 3. What an asshole.
- No gameplay on many of their newly announced titles.
- Call of Duty.
EA:
- Everything.
Ubisoft:
++ Watch_Dogs.
+ BoobCry3.
+ Rayman Legends.
+ Assassin's Creed 3 is the best title in the series.
- Corny hosts.
Sony:
+ PS One support for Vita.
- No The Last Guardian.
- No games.
- Wonderbook.
- PS+ still not good.
- No games.
Nintendo:
+ Pikmin 3.
- Current games with shoe-horned Wii U features.
- Terrible Wii U UI.
- Less than stellar games being shown expecting to sell you on Wii U.
Man, Ubisoft won. No one could have seen it coming.
-
- No games.
>>> I think you have forgotten to add "for me" here... I'm no fan of GoW or TLOU, but you can't deny their existence. Not to mention Beyond - I liked Heavy Rain very muchand I'm looking forward to QD's new game as well. Also, haven't SONY showed more than Microsoft?
- PS+ still not good.
>>> How could it be better? Give us possibility to play online?
-
I honestly forgot to mention The Last of Us, which looks great, but honestly, people had high expectations for Sony, and they did not deliver. At all. The fact that they gave 10 whole minutes to Wonderbook, and not the Vita was basically a big 'eff you' to early Vita adopters.
Also, if you want to be a bit anal about numbers of games, surprisingly, Microsoft showed off more, albeit in a much smaller time frame.
I'm just more angry at Sony than Microsoft. I wasn't expecting much from Microsoft to begin with.
-
Yes, SONY disappointed. However they still menaged to get the second place for me. If it weren't for this Wonderbookish stuff, I'd say it was a good conference. They menaged to disturb it quite much with all this crap.
Ubisoft >>> SONY > EA > Microsoft = Nintendo
-
Haha, Ueda left Sony so the possibility of The Last Guardian making an appearance was almost minus zero. I gave up hoping for information concerning that game around 2010.
"watch dogs" looks interesting, but the latter half of the footage made it seems like another GoW clone disguised under a huge budget. If it's just going to be co-op "hide behind things and shoot at each other", count me out.
Probably the best thing about E3 so far has been Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion, a spiritual sequel to Castle of Illusion and the "of Illusion" Megadrive/SMS titles, with hand-drawn sprites and backgrounds. Can't wait.

Ueda is still working on the game last anyone heard, and the fact that he left Sony has nothing to do with it making an appearance or not at E3. It's still a PS3 exclusive, and it's still being handled by Sony studios. So I don't see where you were going with that.
-
Hmm, haven't watched Nintendo's conference and didn't watch Konami's conference, but...
Microsoft:
+Halo 4 was interesting with the new animations and the cinematics.
+Splinter Cell: Blacklist was also interesting to see, although it seems like it's a polished Conviction.
=Media stuff is cool, but not interested.
=Call of Duty trailer: it's Call of Duty, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't interested with the setting
EA:
=MoH: Warfighter looks cool, but eh, it's another modern military shooter.
-I guess everything else about it, didn't really interest me at all.
Ubisoft:
+Assassin's Creed III is shaping up to be good, might actually buy it when it comes out. The PS Vita exclusive and cross-play is also interesting.
+watch_dogs caught my interest. As for the shooting elements, eh.
+Far Cry 3 looks good, and as for the hallucination, well...the first few games had mutants, so, par for the course?
+Rayman interested me because of how the Wii U was used.
Sony:
+Beyond seems cool: Second Sight + Heavy Rain?
+The Last of Us was also interesting: lack of ammo, health bar that doesn't regenerate and having to find medkits, making items on the fly. Funny I was watching the trailer on TV, so there were a lot of bleeps going around.
=Not much Vita stuff, asides from the PS1 Classics on the Vita, which I guess is awesome.
The things I wasn't interested in, I tuned out.
-
Really good.

E3 is a western event, to announce localizations and new western projects. The Last Guardian hasn't been released in Japan, and any footage is more likely to spawn from Tokyo Game Shoe ― not E3. Ueda left, and rumours suggest Sony allocated Team ICO's staff to different projects, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's delayed. There's even talks of the game being stalled until the PS4 is released, as they're very high-end games.
Ueda is a perfectionist. ICO was originally a PS1 game, which is why it's one of the best looking early PS2 titles. Judging by that, I wouldn't be at all surprised if The Last Guardian were released within a couple of years of the PS4's life cycle.

speaking of the Tokyo Game Show, when will that be?

20-23 september

E3 is a western event
True. Still doesn't mean they can't show The Last Guardian. They have before.
And while E3 may be western, it doesn't mean it's limited to just western material. Project Diva is being demo'd on the show floor. In Japanese.

That sounds weird. Why would they demo a game without the intention of localizin--

Sega is gauging interest from people trying it out, to see how people would enjoy a title that hasn't been translated.

EA: eh
