Title: iM@S Android theme ideas
Post by: Raestloz on August 08, 2011, 06:10:09 pm
I'm sorry to say that this project is currently on hold until unforeseen future. I have to work on my thesis and I don't seem to have time to work on this.

I might continue working on this someday, but I can't give out any promises.

Disclaimer
I will go ahead and be honest:
While I will definitely try, there is no guarantee whether will I succeed or not, or even if I do, whether the product will be suited to your liking or not, or whether it will be delivered on-time. This is nothing but an attempt by an amateur (and a beginning greenhorn at that), and while I will certainly do my best, it's better if you do not hold high expectations on me or the product

I hope you're envisioning the same look as I am.

(Minimal, bright, white background with idol color highlights)

I am not too well-versed with AndroidOS, but how much are you able to change in regards to appearance on unmodified AndroidOS? How about if I were to root my phone and use a modified OS? And what are the drastic differences in appearance with phones with HTC Sense and phones without it?

I am interested in the project, to say the least.
Title: I don't actually know

I will admit that I don't actually know to what extent I can change the UI.

Like I said, I'm a total beginner in every sense of the word about Android. This project is supposed to be a project in which I can learn to improve my skills.

As far as I know, a "theme" is less like a theme and more like a UI update, in that it's a software update package with all the "software" part removed, leaving only UI-related graphics in it, which promptly replaces everything in the device

So I guess I can change details like window and border, perhaps some stock app icons too, but I'm still not sure

I recommend you go download lots of themes.
You'll know what's good and what isn't.
