Title: Yu-Gi-Oh!: Duelists of Project iM@S, gather!: Post your Idol Card(s)!!
Post by: Azem4144 on March 17, 2011, 04:26:10 pm
I want to know who are Duel Monsters' duelists so that I'll know I'm not the only one in here. Since I'm one of them, so I'll introduce myself as a duelist.
Let's see... I have 7 decks for now. My main deck's aces are Shooting Star Dragon and Red Nova Dragon. If you want to duel me through MSN, you can just add my hotmail address~

Alright. As your (apparently) only victim from this site, I guess I am obliged to answer this call. XD

I don't get new cards (mainly 'cause of lack of money and the drop of Yu-Gi-Oh!'s popularity affected its sales here to a degree) but my current Deck revolves around the Aggro/Ritual Strategy with some Lockdown elements. The Deck's ace is constantly being fought over by Reshef the Dark Being, Demise, King of Armageddon, and Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV 8. Still not proven if it can go toe-to-toe with the current metagame.

Although whenever I do get a chance of playing World Championship and Tag Force titles, I don't hesitate to try out making themed Decks. To name a few (successes), I've made a Volcanic Beatdown Deck, a Machina Force-centered Deck, an improvable Wicked Gods Deck, A Majestic Star/Archfiend Deck, and an Exodia-focused Deck with Monarch support.

My irl deck is rather...thrown together, but for what it does it does it's job. Online I generally run a Cloudian deck or a ...burn deck? Is that the technical term for it? It just tends to be cards that take direct LP damage or just generally piss off who I'm dueling.

I'm not really a hardcore duelist and I only really duel friends but, I have a deck or two kicking around. When I'm given a deck that's heavy on attacking I tend to miss opportunities since I'm so used to using weak cards that generally never attack over their time on the field.

My IRL deck met with tragedy long ago. I use the games like World Championship to build my decks, since that is about the most I can afford

I don't play the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG but the games :DDD
But I'm very specific, if it comes to YGO! Games... My Yu-Gi-Oh! Games are mainly from the 5D's series...
And of the original YGO! Games, I have only Duelist of the Roses XD

I would like to play the Online game of YGO! too but my computer is too old to handle this...

Say, which one Hero, in each Hero archetype, is your favorite:
(i) Elemental Hero
(ii) Destiny Hero
(iii) Evil Hero

Mine is:
(i) Elemental Hero Sparkman!
(ii) I don't know about this Hero very much so I don't have one currently
(iii) Evil Hero Lightning Golem!

I watch the first Episode of ZeXal.... but I can't say if I will like it or not :/
The trailers doesn't gave me the "BOOM!! I need to watch the whole series!" effect like 5D's did three years ago...
ZeXal is like a advanced version of GX but not in a Academy or something like that xD Really.... This Yuya (?) guy looks someone, who can annoy anybody very fast, like Judai did.

Looking for a stream that isn't on some kind of horrendously slow Chinese website, but I'm on dodgy internet away from home right now fml.

In the whole two minutes I've seen I've decided that Yuuma is adorable.

EDIT: Now that I've actually seen it, I love it.

My friend showed me how Yu-Gi-Oh! has combined itself with Crush Gear. Riding Duelist wtf?

I want my old "it's all about strategy or nothing!" stuff back!

Also, apparently in the early days you can summon Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon without a single sacrifice, is that true?

Motorcycles, to be exact, but yeah. That's more or less the premise of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds.

But give it time. Before 5Ds came about, lots of people hated the idea or "card games on motorcycles". But do you know what they're saying now that the series shifted to ZeXaL? "5Ds ended too quickly!", "I wish 5Ds had more episodes!", "5Ds is the best Yu-Gi-Oh! ever!!" (Then again, it's worth noting that 5Ds had a darker plot and is quicker to kick it in than its predecessors)

And it's still about strategies. Riding Duels just made it.....er.....easier? Harder? Unique? I dunno. Riding Duels only show up in World Championship 2009-2011, if I recall correctly, and the game prompts you to learn how to play that. There is no such thing as Riding Duels in real life, so you have no fear there.

Yes. Cyber-Stein (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Cyber-Stein) allows the user to pay around 5000 Life points (more than half of what you start with) so you can Special Summon any Fusion Monster from the Extra Deck, provided it doesn't have the "This can cannot be Special Summoned..." text. A standard tactic back then was to get Cyber-Stein out, pay the cost, Summon BEUD, equip it with Megamorph (it'll double its ATK with its effect, now that the controller's LP is guaranteed lower than the opponents) and have it attack, directly if no more monsters are left in the opponent's field, or with cards that give it piercing damage. This is what is known as the Cyber-Stein OTK (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Cyber-Stein_OTK). Currently, said monster is forbidden (can't use a copy of it) from play.

Really? Well, still not my stuff. I'm not so into Yu-gi-OH! Anymore after my deck was wiped out by 4 Dark Towers or something around that line (this card CANNOT be attacked if there is another dark monster in the arena...wtf?)

Oh... so there is a card to do that? My friend played a PSX Yu-Gi-Oh! game (where you don't even have field card yet) and he summoned Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon just like that (cheats ftw, but that's not the topic)

I started playing Yu-gi-Oh! on DS a few years ago and even then you need to sacrifice something

When did CyberStein get released? I never saw something like that on that DS game I played

I only know an OTK when you have "Elemental Hero Sparkman", "Spark Blaster", "H - Heated Heart" or "Ebon Arrow", "Lightning Blade", "Honest" and "Assault Armor" while your opponent controls a high ATK monster...

Heard that 5D's ended earlier because of the Riding Duels? Probably they don't want it to become a big problem or influence the fans to do it for real which is very dangerous.

4 Dark Tower....what? First of all, I know only three cards in the TCG with Tower in their names and none of them sounds like the card you're talking about. Soul-Absorbing Bone Tower is as closest there is to what you're talking about. And second, you can only keep up to three copies per card, making that tactic utter BS. And that's if a card's not affected by the banlist.

I started playing Yu-gi-Oh! on DS a few years ago and even then you need to sacrifice something

When did CyberStein get released? I never saw something like that on that DS game I played

Cyber-Stein is like one of the oldest cards in existence, probably up there with famous cards like BEWD and Dark Magician. If you're trying to get that out of a pack, you have perhaps a 1% chance of making it appear. Also, no NPC you'll see in the DS games will use it because of the banning of the card (banlists still apply there. lol).

I only know an OTK when you have "Elemental Hero Sparkman", "Spark Blaster", "H - Heated Heart" or "Ebon Arrow", "Lightning Blade", "Honest" and "Assault Armor" while your opponent controls a high ATK monster...

There are many OTKs that can be done. Some of which can be done on the first turn of the player, or even the first turn of the Duel. FTK, or First Turn Kills, are some duelists' worst nightmares.

Heard that 5D's ended earlier because of the Riding Duels? Probably they don't want it to become a big problem or influence the fans to do it for real which is very dangerous.

Though that can be true, what I heard the reason was Aki. Apparently, her riding suit and exposed cleavage became too much. Yeah, right.

Deck: "Ojama" Deck
Required cards: 5 non-Fusion "Ojama" monsters including "Ojama Red", "Ojama Yellow", "Ojama Black" and "Ojama Green"; "Ojama Delta Hurricane", "United We Stand" & "Ojama Country".

Probably most of every duelists know this OTK though. Activate an "Ojama Country". While your Monster Zones are empty, Normal Summon an "Ojama Red" and activate its effect to Sp. Summon 4 "Ojama" monsters including "Ojama Yellow", "Ojama Black" & "Ojama Green". (If these 3 monsters are still in your deck and none in your hand, by sending an "Ojamagic" from your field or hand with your card effect/cost, such as "Ojama Country's" cost, you can add the 3 "Ojama" to your hand.) Activate an "Ojama Delta Hurricane" to destroy all cards your opponent controls (if any). Lastly, equip an "United We Stand" to one of your monster and attack your opponent directly with all of your monster.

Somehow, I'm feeling that I'm actually helping you beat me in YVD by posting here, Azem. D:

Your opponent must go first in this OTK.

OR

You can use more than the said number of monsters for this OTK. For safety, try to remove any threats in the form of Spells and Traps with Giant Trunade/etc. Also, since Cyber Eltanin will not remove any monster after its Summon, so you may Summon a monster after Eltanin to take out any face-down monsters if any. Alternatively, Fairy Meteor Crush or Big Bang Shot will do.

Somehow, I'm feeling that I'm actually helping you beat me in YVD by posting here, Azem. D:

Your opponent must go first in this OTK.

  • Activate "Future Fusion", selecting "Chimeratech Overdragon" and sending at least 16 LIGHT Machine-type monsters, including a "Cyber Dragon".
  • Remove from play all Machine-type monsters on your field and Graveyard for "Cyber Eltanin". Cyber Eltanin will get ATK and DEF equal to the number of removed from play monsters for its Special Summon X 500 (16 X 500 = 8000).
  • Cyber Eltanin's effect must activate: It sends all other face-up monsters on the field to the Graveyard (including the opponent's)
  • Attack directly.

OR

  • Activate "Future Fusion", selecting "Chimeratech Overdragon" and sending at least 8 LIGHT Machine-type monsters, including a "Cyber Dragon".
  • Remove from play all Machine-type monsters on your field and Graveyard for "Cyber Eltanin". Cyber Eltanin will get ATK and DEF equal to the number of removed from play monsters for its Special Summon X 500 (8 X 500 = 4000).
  • Cyber Eltanin's effect must activate: It sends all other face-up monsters on the field to the Graveyard (including the opponent's)
  • Use Limiter Removal to double Cyber Eltanin's ATK. (4000 X 2 = 8000)
  • Attack directly.

Or you can just play Giant Trunade>Future Fusion>Overload Fusion>Chimeratech

:>

.....But then there were three copies in the hand. lol

But meh. The Eltanin option works just as well, and it uses one less card than the Chimeratech combo.
Title: Re: Yu-Gi-Oh!: Duelists of Project iM@S, gather!: Think any OTKs of any situation!
Post by: kozu on April 20, 2011, 12:02:46 am
It's not one card less, the combo is still mainly just Future+Overload(just like Future+Eltanin), both combos require some sort of S/T removal(trunade, dust, mst, heavy, etc) it would be stupid to just summon them while your opponent has set S/T just waiting to bottomless it. Chimeratech is just much more consistent and viable. While Eltanin isn't limited like Overload and Future is, it is not a good option because its dependence on LIGHT-Machines. Eltanin really needs a specific deck built around it with Light Machines(Many of which are subpar cards except Cyber Dragon variants or Synchrons).

While it is true that Chimeratech is not as viable anymore after limiting Overload and Future, nonetheless it is a possible win condition provided in a any machine deck that uses Cyber Dragons. Eltanin requires more monsters to give it enough ATK power (500x16 vs CO's 800x10 - half that if you have a Limiter Removal).

Though even then nowadays, OTKs are a thing of a the past because people run Gorz and Battle Fader and Effevt Veilers. :|

Well, one can always try to run a Deck of VWXYZs or Konami Fighters and just slap Eltanin there for last resort. But meh, I guess you can say that Eltanin's a good choice since it's not limited by a Cyber Dragon.

But personally, I rather make themed Decks and just focus on ways on improving them. OTKs are usually done by people who don't duel like duelists (lol Imagine Seto kaiba saying this line).

Sorry for the double post, but perhaps we can have a change of topic?

Old GX topic, but: Crush cards. No, not the Trap card, mind you. Cards that strike as 'appealing' to you (same way 2D characters do too. lol). What are yours?

I have a list (but my hunger makes it hard to remember), but ones who are surely there are Dreamsprite, Spirit of the Breeze, Cyber Tutu, and Blizzard Princess.

I have a deck too... but... not very effective, and I don't really search to have a powerful deck or whatever, it's just funnier to play with cards that I like.

So, my deck contains only magical girls and cute animals like this big koala (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Big_Koala) or that cute cat (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Catnipped_Kitty) ! But the cards which I'm the more proud are the Pikeru (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/White_Magician_Pikeru) and Curran (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Ebon_Magician_Curran), which can envolve into princess Pikeru (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Princess_Pikeru) and Princess Curran (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Princess_Curran) ! And I have Eria, Wynn, Hiita and Aussa, everythem in 4 different "form" ( like with Eria that exists in loli-form (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Eria_the_Water_Charmer), moe-badass-form (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Familiar-Possessed_-_Eria), badass-form (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Raging_Eria) and trap card (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Spiritual_Water_Art_-_Aoi), and this for every girl ). I have a lot of trap and magic cards too. Soo, I'm not very strong, but it can happen that I win, when I have lots of chance !

Familiar Possessed Wynn.
http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Familiar-Possessed_-_Wynn

Not only do I love the artwork, but this card's saved me quite a few times due to it's high attack for a lv.4

That being said, I run a wind deck focused on taking control of my opponent's monsters to use for synchro summoning. It's effective when I get the necessary cards and if I don't, getting Stardust and Black Rose Dragon out in 2 turns is a decent back up plan.

Anyway, I'm working on a Gusto Deck recently and I need help giving it more edge.

And yes, it's a strictly-WIND Deck.

If you play it like that, it's not gonna get very far.

Take it from someone who's been testing and fine tuning a deck for them for months, you're gonna have to mix in some non-wind stuff to make them stand a chance against all the twilight decks you'll be running into.

things I suggest:
x1 Charge of the light Brigade (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Charge_of_the_Light_Brigade) Gets gustos in the grave, where you'll need them, and gets you a lightsworn for more in the grave
x1 Emergency Teleport (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Emergency_Teleport) all but one gusto non-tuner is a psychic, making it easy to get wynnda (lvl.3) or a psychic tuner out for a quick synchro
x1  Telekinetic Power Well (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Telekinetic_Power_Well) Wynnda is a lvl 2 psychic. Use this to make a quick wall or get ready for a big synchro at a small cost.
x3 Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Ryko%2C_Lightsworn_Hunter) Y U NO USE LIGHTSWORNS?! Anyways, he destroys any threat, and can get gustos in the grave.
x2 Krebons (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Krebons) Y U NO US-ahem...Makes a decent wall thanks to the effect, and can be summoned with Power Well.
x1  Miracle Synchro Fusion (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Miracle_Synchro_Fusion) The goal of Gustos is to make synchros FAST. Chances are, you're gonna lose 1 or 2. Mix a psychic synchro and gusto and you got yourself a near invincible beatstick.
x1 Gold Sarcophagus (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Gold_Sarcophagus) Keeps safe what you need the most. Helps a lot to get Synchro Fusion in your hand.
x1 Ultimate Axon Kicker (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Ultimate_Axon_Kicker) Holy C***, this thing is insane. It's effect plus it's high attack, and easy summoning makes it a game changer.
x1 Monster Reborn (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Monster_Reborn) A must. Don't question it. It's a must.

That's just a few I suggest you should use. Aside from that, I would take out a few things from your deck like:

-3 Kamui = You don't need her, that's what Wynnda and Gulldos are for.
-1 Reeze = Don't really see her doing much, considering that she's a lvl.5, making her harder to get out.
-1 Blessing = One works just fine. Remember, you want Gustos in the grave, not in the deck.
-1 Contact = Same as Blessings of Gusto.
-1 Gusto Whirlwind = Doesn't really help. With the effects of the tuners and Wynnda, you should have at least one monster on the field at nearly all times.
-1 Negate Attack = Stops the attack and that's it. Replace with Mirror Force, Magic Cylinder, and Dimensional Prison for a negate attack and a bonus.
-1 Quill Pen = Same as Blessing. One I guess is okay, but Pot of Avarice is better.

If it's twilights I have to face, then I hope I don't set up my Sphreeze Backfire strategy too early or it'll be ruined. I usually rely on aggressive play style and get rid of the game while early on. So far, it's proven effective when the timing is right.

Right now, the recipe's changed (I asked another place as well), and it runs better now.

I saw someone playing on DN the other day. It looks so much better than YVD :<

Visually, yeah. Plus it has Xyz's as well, so that's a plus.
