Angel Beats though Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai comes real close.

Series only btw, if it were movies, then that'd have to go to The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi.

I second that.
But for me, it's either Angel Beats!, Durarara or OreImo
Star Driver gets an honorable mention
-
I would say The World God Only Knows, but since season 2 is next year I'll save it till then.
So Angel Beats! gets this year. But I still believe they could've elaborated more on the other characters more!
Get Chance and Luck! and Don't stop dancing!

EWWWANGELBEATSSSNOOOOO
My anime of the year is Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, and Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei Bangaichi.
Watch no one agree with me. :D

haters :<
Series anime sucked this year. Except Tatami Galaxy.
-
K-On S2 or Ore no imouto ga konna ni kawaii wake ga nai I guess.
-
K-On S2
I can't believe that even behind the mass K-On! love this forum has, only one person thought of suggesting it.
But then it's kinda justified as to why that's so.
-
Because there was anime that was being aired this year in which something actually happened. You know, with a plot.
-
Both Angel Beats! and OreImo disappointed me by the end, when they both had such a great start too.
K-On! S2 was actually a lot better than the first one, but I can't nominate that for anime of the year either.

Oh gee, I wonder what was my "But then it's kinda justified as to why that's so." for? >.>

Next year, if their fanbases are still kept strong, then we might get a new season. The production companies gotta know what would be potential cash cow franchises so they can better off suck the money out of fans. Truth is with KyoAni with Haruhi and K-on! and their longer-than-last-time's season 2's.

Friendly reminder here that I don't live in your head, so please try to be as clear as possible when explaining things, because I seriously dont understand what you were trying to say.
Also, animation companies don't think like that. Second seasons are usually planned as soon, if not before a show ends its first season.
-
No, silly. Companies just create second seasons willy nilly if the first one was popular enough. EVERYONE knows that~
-
As evidenced by many great shows that lack a second season! How unjust and cruel the world is!
-
Very unjust, very. hence our plight of a region locked game series that we all love.

Hmm? I thought everybody knew that K-On!'s plot-lessness, so I said what I said. You're not the only one I could be talking to with my first message, but you asked what could it mean, and I simply answered.

Explain K-On!'s case of the next season of having to wait for at least 9 months from S1 end to S2 beginning (Minus 3 months of estimated preparation)? Or worse, Haruhi's case, when we got the additional new episodes after almost 3 years of waiting?
-
I'm not going to explain because I do not work at KyoAni, and I'm definitely not going to talk and speculate on something I don't know about and look like a complete and utter fool.
How do you know it took 3 months of preparation? Oh, it's an estimation. I see. A guess. Companies do what the do for money, I don't run one, so I don't know what the method is. Neither do you.

I was just waiting to use this at some point.

I'm glad to see your was on topic...

You know what I mean! Even if your arguements are true that has little to do with Anime of the year.

アーッ!!!絶望したぁぁ!!!!!
Zetsubou is anime of the year. That is that.
-
Milky Holmes /serious
Actually it's Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt.
Only series which I watched till the end this year apart from Milky Holmes.
-
Milky Holmes was here

The only new anime I really watched this year was OreImo, so I'd have to go with that.
-
I'd say Angel Beats (but I'm a biased Key fanatic). Speaking of OreImo...I heard there was going to be an alternate ending on the DVD release.
-
It's getting net episodes for it's True End.
-
Yeah, I think it's to compensate for the fact that they don't have enough material and time for the light novel's ending, not that the light novel's done yet.
But how could I ever forget K-On!!
-
I guess, I agree too with Angel Beats!... and To Aru Kagaku no Railgun. Probably MM! tooo...?
