^Seconding that. I love Deresute and CG but I kind of don't like how the english-speaking fanbase became now.
Well....my unpopular opinion.
Not sure if "unpopular" but I must say it's something that lowkey bothers me. I don't like it when Deresute-only fans calls Deresute/Cinderella Girls as "Idolmaster", as in "I play/love Idolmaster!" "Idolmaster girls" "I want Idolmaster to be localized" but they *only* meant Deresute, not Idolmaster in general, or even the core 765pro Imas. As if Deresute is the main and only Imas game. Hahah- Probably just me though. I'm trying to get used to it but it still bothers me at times.
(Also I've seen a person who literally called Deresute as "Idolmaster" but Mirishita as only "Theater Days" and really don't know how to feel about that...)
Same goes for me. It may sound petty, but it honestly gets on my nerves. And apart to being called “imas” as a whole, it also gets pretty annoying when they call Deresute as a whole “Cinderella Girls” and ignore (or directly don’t get informed about the existence of) the original game. As a Producer that has spend a lot of time in the original CG, it is pretty saddening for me to see that the Mobage gets ignored just because its not “muh rhythm game”, thing that tbh was what made Deresute & CG as a whole relevant, because I remember Love Live! players in Twitter criticizing the Mobage back when the anime aired & Deresute didn’t exist yet because “it wasn’t a rhythm game”. I get not everyone likes this types of “tap & wait” games (I myself don’t play other Mobages & GREE games outside of CG, SideM and ML!), but ignoring them is pretty saddening especially considering Deresute exists because of the original CG (obviously lol). I didn’t see this happen with Msute/SideM and Millitheater/ML! that much (just two or three times?), but with CG/Deresute it has arrived to a point that it has become so annoying for me. And like I said, it may sound petty, but that’s exactly how I feel.
Yeah agreeing with this, they should call deresute as it is or cgss but they keep calling it as idolmaster like it is the main branch of the series. Before deresute was release the fanbase was quite okay but now it became a cancerous fanbase.
Should also noted that the current CG popularity have destroyed the value of the original console game a.k.a PS making it a rhythm game with gacha and no communication with the idol like deresute.
Indeed. The fanbase was small compared to now, but it was nice and not toxic (basically like SideM’s and ML!’s fanbases for now), but now it has become a mess. And the part about the original games being destroyed is totally true. Platinum Stars seemed too much like it was trying to be your usual idol phone game but in console, and that’s exactly why it got the bad rep it has. Hopefully Stella Stage will change that.
But hey! Not only did the CG popularity destroyed the games themselves, they also destroyed 765. I’ve seen Cinderella Girls fans (probably DeresutePs, as I have yet to encounter a pre-Deresute CG fan who hates 765) in game websites like Gematsu complaining about Stella Stage just because its “yet another 765 game, where’s my CG console game?!”. I honestly can’t believe they complain about CG not getting a console game when Deresute gets updated weekly, while for 765 games we need to wait months and even year(s) for them to release a new entry. Besides, Cinderella Girls’ cast is half unvoiced, if they want a CG game then why would they want the unvoiced girls to NOT be on it? They are also part of CG!
