Wiki discussion / Wiki Standardization Voting
« on: November 07, 2014, 06:54:33 am »
Several users have come to the conclusion that the wiki is in dire need of some changes. This mostly concerns the consistency of our spelling and romanization process, as well as some important decisions on idol names and formatting changes. To help streamline the process and get more input from our members, a poll was created to help find a clear consensus.

If you want to have any input on character names, how the main page may be reformatted, or several other stylization factors, please fill out the form to the best of your abilities. The voting will available until November 15, 2014. When the poll closes, the votes will be tallied up and the results will be posted here. Any questions concerning the form or input you have that cannot be done within the form should be talked about in this thread.

Thank you for your time and support, Producers!

Wiki discussion / Page Name Issues
« on: August 24, 2014, 12:48:07 am »
Alright, so we've come to a unique problem where some pages have two "official" romanization names, such as the unit names for Million Live! and some Puchimasu! characters. Also, some pronunciations are different when said or are stylistically written, such as Gemmy vs Jemmy, and Nanairo Button vs Nana Iro Button. It's not just songs and characters either. The radio shows for iM@S and some costumes have several different spellings as well (check the compendium against some of the page names). The current situation is that we have several pages constantly changing names and getting redirected to names that are also official. So what should we do? We NEED your input, because this problem is effecting more and more pages by the month.

We need to come up with an official rule that will take care of the following pages:
* THE IDOLM@STER vs. THE iDOLM@STER vs. The Idolmaster (Effecting every page with it in the title)

* Shiny Festa referred by English or Japanese names (Funky Note vs. Rhythmic Record)
* THE iDOLM@STER: Live for You! vs. THE iDOLM@STER: Live For You!
* THE IDOLM@STER Weiβ Schwarz TCG vs. THE IDOLM@STER Weiss Schwarz TCG

* Chihyaa vs. Chihya- vs. Chihyah
* Makochi- vs. Makochii
* Ryo Akizuki vs. Ryou Akizuki
* Touma Amagase vs. Toma Amagase
* Hokuto Ijuuin vs. Hokuto Ijuin
* Shouta Mitarai vs. Shota Mitarai

* LEGEND DAYS vs. Legenddays vs. Legend Days
* OTOME STORM! vs. Otome storm! vs. Otome Storm!
* CRESCENDO BLUE vs. Crescendo Blue
* ETERNAL HARMONY vs. Eternal Harmony
* Ryugu Komachi vs. Ryuuguu Komachi
* 765 PRO vs. 765PRO vs. 765 Pro

* Gemmy vs. Jemmy
* Nanairo Button vs. Nana Iro Button
* Ramune Iro Seishun vs. Ramuneiro Seishun
* Nemuri Hime vs. Nemurihime

Radio Shows
* iM@S SHOW vs. iM@SHOW vs. Ima Show (ect. for other broadcasts)

* Red Sequin vs. Red Sparkle
* Lively Rose vs. La Vie Rose
* Webbed Hunter vs. Web and Hunter
* Holy Night Gifter vs. Holy Night Targeter
* Weiβ Jupiter vs. Weiss Jupiter

* THE IDOLM@STER MOVIE: Kagayaki no Mukougawa e! vs. THE IDOLM@STER MOVIE: Kagayaki no Mukou Gawa e! vs. THE IDOLM@STER MOVIE
* Every CG and ML voice actress.

Yes, these are all separate and official romanizations. If you find a fanmade one, please point it out and I'll remove it.

Wiki discussion / Costume Pages Questions
« on: July 15, 2014, 08:21:20 pm »
Certain costumes appear under different names in their later appearances. Should we create separate pages for each of them, or just redirect one of them to the other's page? And if we decide to do the second option, which name should we choose as the title?

Costumes that have this problem are as follows:

* Snow Strawberry & 876PRO Cute Ai
* Indigo Spangle & 876PRO Cool Eri
* Musket Planet & 876PRO Cosmic Ryo
* School Swimsuit, Old School Swimsuit, 765 School Swimsuit, 765 White School Swimsuit
* Summer Days School & Summer Days School SP
* Gravure Swimsuit 2 & Angel's Swimsuit
* Beyond the Nobles, Beyond the Vibes, Beyond the Wishes & Beyond the Stars

Wiki discussion / Image Songs
« on: October 09, 2013, 07:53:29 pm »
How are Image songs determined? (e.g. Why isn't "Koisuru Mikata" considered an image song for Ritsuko, but "LOVE Order Maid" is?

I understand songs like "START!!" or "ALRIGHT*", but what about songs from the Famison 8-Bit CD's, the Twelve Seasons series and the Million Live! series? Are solo songs or solo remixes considered, like Ami singing "Suki" on her MASTER ARTIST 2 CD or Haruka's "Kimi no Mama de" on the Namassuka Curtain Call CD?

Wiki discussion / Tonari Ni... (Lyrics) - A NIGHT IN FANTASIA 2009
« on: April 10, 2013, 01:13:38 am »
I've been looking at the videos posted online (on NND & YouTube) of Chiaki Takahashi singing "Tonari Ni..." at the "A NIGHT IN FANTASIA 2009" event, but I can't make out the English part of the lyrics.
If you can, please help!

The most I've gotten is this, and it's probably not right:

When times get down and trying, I don't know what to do
And to feel your ________ and standing right beside me
It's not just a dream, this ________ and be with me
I'm  _______ the chance

____________________________ by the way
____________ and ____________ I can't undo
I still remember when you  _____ away and stay with me
You said goodbye!

Derived products, CD albums & anime / Background Singers of iM@S
« on: February 17, 2013, 01:51:20 pm »
Well, there are quite a few background singers in THE iDOLM@STER's history but I can't seem to find any names...
Examples: - Kimi wa Melody Jazz Arrange - THE iDOLM@STER (in English?) - Marionette no Kokoro

The list could go on for all the karoke/REM@STER versions... The only ones identified on the wiki are Akira Kushida (串田 アキラ) and the judge Tetsuya Karuhiguchi...

I'd love to credit them on the wiki, but finding any information on them is difficult when you can't read Japanese...

Wiki discussion / REM@STER lyrics
« on: January 10, 2013, 04:49:59 am »
A lot of the REM@STER versions of the songs have very... different lyrics.
Positive REM@STER-A, Ohayou!! Asagohan REM@STER-A, and Do-Dai REM@STER-B all have significant dialogue changes and those are just the few I caught... I don't know Japanese at all, but I know these do things the original songs never did...

Do we need to put these in the lyrics as REM@STER version lyrics, or even just put them under the main lyrics section? The only problem with the second idea is Positive... Every other line is an interjection by Azusa, so it may be easier to put them in the main lyrics as a different color...?

I dunno...

Wiki discussion / Song questions...
« on: January 08, 2013, 04:47:59 am »
1) "THE IDOLM@STER ANIM@TION MASTER 05" and "THE IDOLM@STER 7th ANNIVERSARY 765PRO ALLSTARS Minna to Issho!!"  both feature medleys made up of songs from the games and CD's, but most of the songs only include a few verses and a chorus... Is there a specific way to note this on the song page?

2) Is there a way to note if a recording is a M@STER version or game sized version on the song page?

3) Are we not allowed to list MASTER BOX recordings on the song page?

4) Is there a terminology page to explain the difference between a "Remix" and a "REM@STER" for newcomers... Or even give an explanation for what a "M@STER" version is?

5) What are the REMIX notations for the MASTER ARTIST 2 albums supposed to be? It varies between pages in both Japanese and English despite them all saying the same thing on the back...

Sorry for asking so many questions... I'll stop if you need me to... I'm going to go bury myself...

H-hello... I hope I did this thread thing right... I've never used a forum before...
Gender: Boy
Country of Origin: America
Age (upon joining): 16
Hobbies: Being an iDOLM@STER fan, acting, dancing, singing (badly)

Q: How did you come across this site?
A: I was a Vocaloid fan back in the day (That ended really fast upon finding iM@S...), and Nonowa kept popping up. Fed up with the freaky little thing, I researched her. Eventually, I found out she was related to Haruka, and ended up here.

Q: Why did you join this site?
A: I get on it almost everyday... I just... am terrified of offending someone by being a complete newcomer, so I don't say much on the forums...

Q: Do you play it?
A: Sadly no...

Q: Do you wish you could play it? (Ignore this part if above answer is "Yes")
A: Duh! Producing any of these idols would be epic! (Yes, even Jupiter)

Q: Who is your fave idol?
A: Ooh... Tough Question... Gotta say Ritsuko, although Mami (she's tough to give up her dream of debuting to help further Ami's career), 876PRO (I love 'em to death!), and Touma (he's just funny) are close behind!

Q: Why is your username "Chance4U"?
A: It was the only one I could remember.

Q: What are you in to right now?
A: iDOLM@STER... although I do like Pokespe and Hetalia.

Q: What is your motto/favorite quote?
A: "An idol's job is to carry everybody's dreams. They're supposed to use song and dance to make people happy. When the famous idols I know appear on TV or do concerts... That alone makes the audiences watching them smile. THAT'S WHY I WANT TO BE AN IDOL TOO..."
   - Ai Hidaka, THE IDOLM@STER DEARLY STARS Splash Red

Q: Who's your favorite singer(s) right now?
A: Umm... Well, 765PRO is pretty hot right now. 876PRO has great tunes too... Jupiter has cool music, but not as good as the others...
Other than the iDOLM@STER? MOTHER, EarthBound, and MOTHER 3 sound beautiful!

Q: What are you up to right now?
A: I'm practicing some iM@S dances.

Q: Do you have any expectations from this site?
A: I want to give my all to further other people's knowledge of the iDOLM@STER! I'd also like to learn a lot too!
