Lol...I don't know if he is a troll or if he is being serious.

I don't want to get to far off topic, but yeah he's serious.  On his youtube channel he states he has Autism, however it's more technically Aspergers if you look at his twitter/youtube content.  People with Aspergers tend to have a set line of interests that are restrictive.  When something new is introduced to them within that restrictive circle, the context of the new item gets meshed into the line of interests in order to understand it.  In his case, it seems the Idolm@ster DLC which appeared on Sega's Hatsune Miku game is what made him take interest.  Which is why the requests for the idols to sing songs or appear in games that they don't belong.  To him, Idolm@ster can't exist as it's own entity and he won't take any interest in the game unless it's in the context of what he knows.  So he will always see it from the frame-point of Sonic, or incorporate it into his current interests only because it teamed up with Sega.

And why "I WANT" is now "HARUKA RedMIX"?

Look below the "Now Playing" image, it says it's a DJ MIX, most likely a mix set of Haruka personal/image songs?  However it doesn't help that they cut away to another idol, so no idea if it's just a playlist inside a playlist or something professionally mixed.  Also it doesn't look like you can switch who sings the song around, all the BGMs that played in the preview matched who sings the song on the playlist.

Much better than last episode, but for being a very dramatic episode, it kinda lacked any sort of deep-felt drama.  You didn't really connect to Chihaya's pain until the very end of the episode, where you could see how drained and sick of the situation she was.  So by the time you got to know the real Chihaya, the episode was pretty much over before you could delve more into her character.  When she "ran away" in the episode, they really could have taken the opportunity there to really showcase how caged in she felt.  However it wasn't really showcased until the end, perhaps on purpose so you could be in the dark about it like the producer.  Also it seems to me Takane is upstaging the producer each episode when she imparts some wisdom into whatever they're doing haha.

Not a bad episode, just average and not worth rewatching...I'm hoping things pick up after episode 5 since it looks like that episode is the typical beach/hot springs episode.

Interesting thought, although I suppose wouldn't they have just put a silhouette there?  If they were to have a new character anyways.

I think the pillow is just being used as negative space to highlight Haruka in that image, to remind people that she's the flagship idol.  Since she has a pillow on both sides of her, your eyes are drawn to where she is in the image amongst all the idols.

Something about me wants me to say that maybe, just maybe... a PS3 port was always part of the plan.

It's a brilliant thought.  Because wasn't that the case with Tales of Vesperia (or Vampire Rain?  I'm trying to find the article again)?  That the game was developed for Xbox because the development costs were low, but it allowed them to port it over to PS3 albeit having to include additional content?  Honestly the idea to make a PS3 Im@s could have been around since 2008 when they announced making a PSP version.  Because after a year of the first game out, they released L4U and then announced SP a couple months later.  I'd have to assume during 2007 they could have been looking at the PS3 but chose to release L4U after a year of the first game, and then the PSP version a year later.  Makes me wonder if they have been investigating a PS3 version since those times but never found a way to do it and seem relevant.  Because you are right to question a date that specific, it might have just been a wait for the right moment sort of thing.

-Talk about the worst character development ever, huh?
-I missed old Yukiho this much throughout that whole episode.
-The most awkward transition from shy and fearful to headstrong and motivated I have ever seen ever.
-I'm also not liking how the show just has to show every single idol all the time

This episode really painted Yukiho out as a rape victim or something.  Which I thought it was interesting she was more afraid of the dog then the MALE children, even when they appeared again.  However any of the adult males she just flipped her lid about.  Especially her hallucinations of them being demons, it just had some creepy undertones that something really bad happened to her.  With a fear painted that strong, I have no idea how she was able to get over it that fast.  I could have understood if maybe the Tea Haruka & Makoto gave her was spiked with liquor, making her open up a bit...that would have been a more entertaining conclusion no offense.

With Yukiho aside, a very confusing episode in how it was structured.  The last episode focused on the loli-trio quite well, and in this episode it seemed like they were trying to focus on Makoto, Haruka, and Yukiho as a whole.  However it felt like Iori and the twins kept stealing scenes throughout the whole show.  Also I'm not sure why they were upset about not having the right clothes, when in the last episode, the moral seemed to be "It's not what you wear, but what's on the inside."

I'm also a bit worried about the formula they seem to be following.  It reminds me of Doki Doki School Hours in how each episode would revolve around an event, and each character in the giant cast would act out their quirks in response to that event.  Episode 2 and 3 seemed to follow that formula, and the preview for episode 4 seems to say the same.  Not that it's a bad way to handle all these characters, it's just we're not going to get much depth in this format.  Shame they didn't keep the format of the first episode and just swap the POV amongst the idols each episode.

Overall episode 3 was a very average anime episode sadly...

So yeah, after seeing that, I'm really doubtful we'll have to worry about a region lock here. Especially on a console well known for being region free.

Unless someone links to a piece of reliable information stating they're region locking this bitch, you're just doing speculative reporting/trolling that they are gonna lock it.  They didn't region lock the PSP version despite the ability being there to do so.  Honestly they're not going to with the PS3 version, and no game previously on the PS3 has been region locked.  Idolm@ster has escaped Japan before without region lock, even if it was just portable versions, they're not going to try and hide the game now.  The only region locks that have been placed on the series have been due to the hardware (Xbox360 region locked & the DS version having locks on the DSi enhanced features).  The only thing your PS3 won't play will just be the anime that ships with the limited edition bundle.

I wouldn't worry about region lock, especially since the PSP version of the game wasn't region locked.  Even though there are movies and maybe one game with region lock on the PSP, they didn't slap it on SP.  I can't even think of a PS3 game that has region lock on it, and Bamco loves money so I have no idea why they would slap it on there randomly.  They're not going to add region lock to this game in the slightest, end of conversation.

It finally goes to PS3 now?
I'd probably be more interested if it were the first game + L4U on the same disk...  Although this is doable considering the amount of content in the rumor, and makes the game more accessible to people in the west.

I guess the sky's the limit now for Im@s.

Yeah, I was wondering about what was Touma doing in 765pro(I assumed it was the 765pro building)
Checking on the competition?
Edit: BT2chon said it was other place so..... who cares we got Touma :>

Yeah it was in the audition building?  It was confusing to me because they were in some audition waiting room filling out paperwork or something.  Having Touma there just put a bunch of questions into my mind and just derailed the anime for a second.  Like was he participating in the same audition they were?  Was he there for another audition?  Why was he casually strolling around the building (finished an audition, headed to an audition)?  It just wasn't clear why they just randomly tossed him in there and was just distracting to what was going on IMO.  If they do introduce Jupiter later in the anime, the scene makes sense, but for now it was just an unnecessary cameo to me.

Also I love the VKB24 poster on the audition wall, which has to be a play on AKB48 I would assume haha.

I didn't see the 876 characters in any of the magazines.  The sexy magazines and cosmetic ones didn't seem to have any either...I mean the hairstyles look similar in the above screencap but I doubt it's the same or a reference to their characters.

The Loli-trio episode haha.

This was actually a pretty decent episode, and for being a fan of both Iori & Yayoi I'm VERY pleased to see them focused on right away.  It was a little more humorous and lighthearted than the first episode which was nice, and the fact they focused on a small group of idols most of the episode made things feel like less of a mess.  So I'm a bit glad and hoping to see the anime continue to take this direction focusing on small groups at a time.  Also thank gawd they included the HAI TOUCH at the end, I was waiting around for an eternity for that to happen.

Best Parts of this episode:
-Hai Touch
-The Iori picturebook ending

I have some gripes about this episode.
-First off, that Touma bit was not needed at all.  It was like finding a rock in a delicious ice cream sundae.  I just don't understand why they included that bit.  If it was foreshadowing him as a rival to appear later in the series, why was he just casually strolling through the building?  Wouldn't it make more sense if they just ran into him on the way to the photoshoot?  If it was just a guest appearance, never to appear again in the series, it really doesn't make sense what went on there.  Because it was so detached from what was going on in the episode it just derailed it for a second.
-The producer is so worthless.  He seems like a weak character in comparison to the rest, and when the lolitrio asked him for help, he just gave up and joined them.  I mean eventually he was able to shoot some pearls of wisdom to them, but he couldn't have done so without the help of Miki.  To have him be confident and full of wisdom one second, to just your cliche harem male character the next, it doesn't make sense.
-The OP was kinda was a visual mess that didn't present the characters well IMO.  Wasn't bad, but if they keep it for all future episodes, I'll just skip over it.

I actually don't really care for the Producer...he's just like the one in the relations manga pretty much. I guess because you can't really relate to him since you can see him. It would be funny to see a black blob that only spoke the whole show. XD

Yeah, visible producer is kinda bland but they had to do it I suppose to avoid making the anime like a Japanese Dora the Explorer.  Although I hope on the last episode of the anime, it ends with Ritsuko breaking the 4th wall and saying something like "You can be our next producer."  Just like episode one, it would imply that throughout the series you've actually been behind the camera getting ready to join 765pro.  The anime could actually then be a prelude to the second game, showing what went on before you joined.  I'd be cool with that idea, and it seems obvious, but who knows what direction the anime will go.

Re-watching episode 1 and just got a laugh realizing the Judges at Takane's audition were posing like the vocal/visual/dance judges do in the game.  I guess I didn't notice because none of them were wearing a pointy hat :<

Looked it up, it's this right?

I think we (forum) should talk about it and throw some ideas around about it.  I think it would be cool to do an Im@s panel but what would go on during it would need to be discussed xD

Random idea, iDOLM@STER panel next year at AX?

Would be interesting to have anything Im@s related going on over there.
