Although from my lurking around the old forums I never really quite agreed with some of the stuff you did, this is one of the things I agree with you with. All the Karma feature does is give forum members a bad reputation for no apparent reason. This place is not a 'popularity contest', after all.
And I'm happy I'm not the only one who wants the chit-chat section gone...

I try to keep my potential awesomeness in moderation...
