Hmm...I guess it could use some work. I'll notify the bosses when they come online.

It's a rep system. I dunno why the bosses added them. Just ask them (at least, they'll answer this when they see it. XD

Well, the major difference between Chit-Chat and General Chatter is that Chit-Chat doesn't increase your post count and therefore can have somewhat looser rules. Most notably, double posting and such is ok (as long as you not flood anything).

So, basically I think that threads meant to have useful content where you shouldn't post just to post, like what animes you've been watching, or funny pictures, etc. belong in General Chatter. While personal thread and forum games like the three-word story goes in Chit-Chat.

Perhaps this thread could be moved to the Important Stuff section, like the old forum had a forum improvements thread there.

I think it was:

Lurker (no post)
Newbie
Poster
Regular
Contributor
Out of Rank Producer
Rank E Producer
Rank D Producer
Rank C Producer
Rank B Producer
Rank A Producer

As I remember it,  Poster and Regular were the other way around.

Get rid of anything and everything that would put one member above the other. In this case, Karma. Such a ridiculous idea, it doesn't stand for anything. Same goes for Ranks, or any other sort of title.

Get rid of the chit chat section, make General Chatter a forum that does not increase post count. Time and time again I have asked what the differences were between the two were and not once have I gotten an answer that made a lick of sense.

Speaking of which, I've barely seen their presence around here...

Well it's not harming anybody's experiences...

Chit-Chat = you can spam in it, talk about stuff with no real structure.
General section = more organised, no spam, talk about stuff with a structure.

And if it has no use, throw it away.

The Chit-Chat section is a carbon copy of the last one from the late forum, and many problems from that forum stemmed from that very section. It has absolutely nothing of value, and this being an iM@S forum, it would only make sense that if you talk about iM@S, you get post count, not iM@S related? No post count.

All I'm saying is, there's no need to have two sections in which we talk about things unrelated to iM@S. The more sections we have that don't concern the topic, the more time people will spend on them and not the sections that could hold a substantial topic in them.

It happened before and there is no reason why it wouldn't happen again.

That's punishing people for not being 100% otakus. All quality posts should increase post count, which is why there's basically a "quality post forum" and a "no-quality post forum" which doesn't count posts.

Punishment? Oh, well, I'm very sorry I tried to suggest something so horrible that would impede you from growing that precious number of yours. I didn't know that was a punishment.

But really, I was promised change, and all I got was a forum with a bad layout. I only wish for drastic change.

Well... Post count doesn't matter that much right? Its just a rising number, no significance whatsoever. Plenty of people here lost large quantities of post count when the forum broke down and we had to switch to this one. Scotty and myself being two of those people. I understand what you're getting at but back at the old forum, if we included all the posts from the chit-chat section, post count would skyrocket for just about everybody!
But really, I was promised change, and all I got was a forum with a bad layout. I only wish for drastic change.
Whether the general chatter and chit-chat section exist separately or not doesn't matter that much. Why not focus on the things that actually do deserve the "drastic change" which you're speaking about?
And if it has no use, throw it away.
Now that's a matter of opinion... ㄱ.ㄱ

There's a reason why we have a chit-chat section. Kami and Yuna probably thought that we needed a place to unwind and chill out a bit, and from time to time, all nonsense posts go to there instead of the other parts of the forum, thus, we have our 'space.' However, nowano once told me that it is the source of what made our old forum go into a trolling state, and I'm not pointing fingers, but those who did damage, spent so much time together there and outside of it.

I already said my reply to this message on the above.
Get rid of anything and everything that would put one member above the other. In this case, Karma. Such a ridiculous idea, it doesn't stand for anything. Same goes for Ranks, or any other sort of title.
As soon as I saw we had this Karma system, I already asked for its removal, since it can be easily abused. But the admin said to give it time, and I'm not blaming them or anything, but what I said is right. In all honesty, there are people with +points and -points who don't deserve them, and people who do. Check out Nanashi. He's one of the greatest informants and wiki editors, but his +points aren't as high as Yukipo and Laburey. Also, look at Sam, for being inactive for like, 3 weeks, and during that time, he already accumulated -6 karma? If that's so, then all inactive members should be like him, but no, which just proves that it is all a troll.

People, just ignore this until they actually come back to remove it. It's nothing but a good way to troll, and I'm not pointing at people, but a group of people here tagged their way to the top and plunged others to the bottom. How ridiculous my current karma is stands as proof of this. Also, Scotty, please, don't act like a hero, at least, not at this moment, when people can still remember that you asked and were given a custom rank for yourself in the old forum, and right now, where you have high +points and low -points for what, coming back? May you choreographed this or not, at this moment, you had no right to say what you just did. The Karma is already is abused, let's stop it like this, bury it for later when the admins come for deletion.

In any case, this topic will turn into a troll war with people bashing each other's opinions. Relax mods and admins, I'm chill, and because I'm chill that I'm saying this: To the first mod who sees this, or when Trance catches up on this, please lock this thread for the earlier stated reason. Thanks..

I feel I should point out that yukipo probably spends more time than anyone else working with the wiki, so your example doesn't really work, and that Sam got five of his six minus points after he returned from "being inactive".
