A number of proposals for the new forum

I kind of feel like an ass listing out improvements, but I promise this is for the forum's benefit

1) A "Suggestions for the Forum" board should be added. Threads like this, the "Where's quick reply" thread, and generally anything that has to do with the forum itself. It, along with Wiki Discussion and site news, should probably have a unique category called Project iM@S or something.

2) We change the rank names (Newbie, Junior Member, etc) to fit iM@S. The higher post count ones could be idol ranks, and the lower ones things like "auditioning idol" or something more creative. We should also have a list of them and the number of posts to get it pinned somewhere (probably Rules).

3) We explicitly rule out the differences between General Chatter and Chit Chat. In the former we have "What anime are you watching," and the latter "What games are you playing," and it doesn't make sense for them to be in different boards. In my opinion, Chit Chat should be lighthearted, no discussion topics (aka quasi spam) and forum games like "OMG IM THROWING A TOMATO AT YOU WHAT DO YOU THROW BACK :nowano:" General Chatter should be anything that requires on topic input, from "What'd you have for breakfast" to "Billy Mays just died." These are just examples, obviously the moderators should decide.

I feel like I'm bitching, sorry :3 these are just ideas I have.

1 and 2) Nice, will be possibly be added when Yuna or Kami sees this. I recall making the ranks before, I'll post it again later.

3) Gen. Chatter = Basic non-iM@S info hut (other games, news, etc.) while Chit-chat = Forum games, not-as-important-to-the-economy rants, member diaries/threads (if they want).

All of these are logical, and I agree that they should be done XD The suggestions board sounds like an especially good idea, since Project-iM@S is, for the most part, starting over. Like a new iM@S-y layout |3

I agree with the rank names thing, for sure. The old ones were kind of related, as when you got enough posts you became a "Rank -- producer" (but before that, it was contributor, poster, and...I don't know, something else)
Considering that some people don't like the 1st-person-idol thing, though, maybe keep them related to producing? (though, what are you before you become a producer?)

Anyhow, they're still not really related to producers 'till you become an out-of-rank producer, right? Though, I wouldn't object to them being the same as before.

Well, the reason why some of it isn't like so is because there isn't enough spaces before to fill up all possible spots with producer ranks. I recall posting some fan ranks in the list, such as Distant fan (forgot, rough description), Fan club member, fan club president, etc.

Haven't seen a category for that. Or should we just shove it in the sub-forum of derived products?

Probably a sub-forum, especially for doujins and stuff.
