Goddamn album arts!
Raestloz:
I want to rant a bit >:(
I got a Bold 9700, and I'm quite happy with it. The sound quality is nice and it can host a lot of songs
The problem is the album art part.
As you can see, THE iDOLM@STER is like no other: instead of album art we got song art. This contributes greatly to song recognition, but introduces problems as well.
See, normally each song from each album got the same album art, because they don't normally have an individual song art. Because of this RIM took a simple approach: find an art from an album, and apply it as the art for the whole song in the album.
You can pretty much imagine Master Box VI where each song got I Want icon as the song art. Very annoying, especially because I've created asong arts for each of the song, but I can't do anything about this (because it is iM@S that defies normal). A work around would be to slightly alter the album name or completely disregard the album altogether and apply the song's name as the album.
Sigh
Scotty:
This sounds more like it has to do with the hardware and not the music, or iM@S. My iPod handles album art perfectly. Never heard of song art since you should only be looking at the art from the album, as in the art you see when you look at the case to which the CD is in. I would put the master box art itself and have it display for all the songs that you got from there.
Raestloz:
Either you misunderstood my post or it's something else Scotty, but I didn't say anything about the music (or iM@S) being the culprit
Maybe this can jog your mind?
Let me help you understand my post: :D What I said was RIM took a simple approach, rather than looking for album art in each song, it simply index every song based on Album Name, find the first song that has an album art in it and use it as the album art for everything else in the same album
To make it simple, this happened:

Can't you just manually take the music and add the art that you want per song? I know at least iTunes will let you add song art individually and won't force it to the entire album (unless you tell it to).
Either that or, like Scotty said, take the Masterbox art and put it on the album.

Each song got their own share of attention:
That how I organized my songs, each custom edited to fit into Nokia's S40 3rd Edition music player (100x100 cover art and ridiculous character length, haven't got the time to make them Blackberry friendly). Well, some didn't get proper data due to one problem or another.
Like I said, the problem is not in the music, but in RIM's implementation of album art. Their implementation is very sound and logical, but leaves less room for individual recognition
