Oooh... Sonys. You have any other headphones that you could compare them against?
These are my other headphones: Koss KSC75, Sennheiser MX880, Apple earbuds+mic. The Koss KSC75 comes closest to the Sonys in sound quality. With some CDs recorded in a concert hall (like
this, and
this) when I use the Koss 'phones it sounds like I'm on stage with the artists, it's amazing; no effects or EQ necessary. The Sonys are almost as good on those CDs, they just don't reproduce the ambience of the hall as well. This could be due to the titanium coated diaphragms, which the Sonys lack. However there are occasions where the Sonys have better instrument detail; I can hear that a flute is a wooden flute, with the KSC75 it just sounds like any other flute. For studio recordings like idolmaster CDs, where a lot of the music is produced artificially, I definitely prefer the Sonys. They've got more bass (which I do like when listening to idolmaster music) and are more powerful in general, the KSC75 sounds small in comparison.
Thing is, I'm busy playing on my PSP, and have recently found out that listening to the built-in speakers is just... well, I can't do it anymore, the ATs are that much better.
I have a PSP too but I haven't used it in a while. I bought a bunch of games for it but I've only played two of them for a good amount of time. Those are Final Fantasy VII and Wipeout Pure (or was it Wipeout Pulse?). Can you recommend some good PSP games?
Edit: Changed the word "reverberations" to "ambience"
