This article says that newer My Passport drives have no SATA interface inside. The article is more than two years old, though.

Looks like I lost 1 TB of data including anime, music, uni work/notes, graphical works and many more, then... ;_;

If it is just the microUSB port on the casing, maybe the drive can be repaired. Also, Western Digital could've gone back to including an internal SATA interface after the article I linked to was written. Finally, the platters could be removed and put into a new drive. Don't give up just yet!

That is why one should just buy a bare drive and put it in an enclosure... Although it's a bit more expensive, it's easier to retrieve the files if the USB to SATA interface dies.
