Hate to ruin your day but the original arcade Idolm@ster used a Namco System 246 - which is a customised SONY Playstation 2. Source.

To rub it in a bit more, as that was the original, that means it was first designed and made for Sony and then ported to the Xbox.

Good luck with your Sony hating  ;D
