Get the Popcorn! It's the Movies Topic!
« on: August 06, 2010, 11:09:21 am »
We have a topic for games, anime and music, but no movies? C'mon! I know you watch them too.

Just got off the cinema? Or did you open your movie channel and watched an interesting movie you thought is worth sharing? Whatever the case is, this topic shall serve as an overall movies discussion.

You know the drill. Let's get cooking!

=======

Right now, I've seen The Last Airbender. It's a pretty OK movie, though for those who were expecting a nice live-action adaptation and has yet to see it, you may wanna look away.

Other movies I saw on TV that I wanna mention:

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian - Epic and funny. A good sequel to the already loved first movie.
My Sassy Girl - It's a simple love story, but I love it. Got me thinking of a lot of things. XD

Movies? Hmmm... I don't watch movies that much, games are more my style

Last thing I saw was... Oh! That moon series, the one involving wolves and vampires; boy that was so not worth it for me, one maybe because it has lots of love aspect while I like action more, and second because the female heroine is a total *censored*. I mean, make up your mind you stupid ass hottie!

The Last Airbender was pretty trashy.
Inception would be the thing.

I saw Inception recently. Best movie I've seen this year. I actually suggested this movie to Taco, and he loved it.

This year I have seen Kick Ass. It was a pretty awesome and funny movie.

I have seen Prince of Persia. It was a pretty good movie.

I have also seen The Last Airbender. It's was alright but I thought that they left out some stuff in the movie.

I have watched a couple of Anime movies this year as well. Summer Wars and The Dissappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. They were both pretty great movies.

Inception, Inception, Inception! Best movie of the year so far!

I saw dinner for schmucks. Not bad, humerous but the ending feels like it was put in at the last second....

Props to marx for the sig.

I just recently went through a whole marathon of war movies. I saw Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down, We were Soldiers, and the Last Samurai. Needless to say its got me really pumped up about the military.

Waiting to see The Other Guys in a few days that movie looks hilarious.

Well, I just saw The Expendibles. It's a decent action movie, lots of explosions and a few funny jokes here and there, but it has a lot of faults.

First the story. It's completely forgetable to the point that there's a good chance is all that you'll remember is that there was a 20 minute gunfight in between 4-5 minutes of dialouge. Don't go in expecting an Inception grade story. That's all I can say. :P

As for the special effects, it ain't no Avatar, I can tell you that much. I'm not saying I could do better, but they are amatuer in most parts. It has an action movies standard explosions and blown up bodies. But for things like buildings falling and a certain scene where someone caught on fire (not gonna say who =P), it was really obvious that computer cg was used to create the effect.

Overall, it's a good action flick where you can shut off your brain and enjoy the explosions and gunshots.

If I had to rate it, I'd give it a 7/10

Props to marx for the sig.

Saw Inception a while back, it was pretty awesome.  Ending makes everyone go whoaaa wut.  I also just saw Despicable Me last Tuesday.  That was such a cute movie, loved it a lot.

Going to see a movie again on Tuesday, anyone have any suggestions? (No I'm not going to go see Inception again)

Revival of really old topic!

Saw Pirates of the Caribbean : On Stranger Tides yesterday.

I liked it a lot! Wouldn't say love because I wasn't blown away, but it was worth the time and money. And a good way to end the Pirates movie series. At least I hope they end it, since they didn't really set it up for another one.

I watched part of The Italian Job during class today. Pretty good. Shame that I don't have Netflix to watch it yet.
