Looking back way some, I finally got around to finishing Accel World. I enjoyed it and the fighting concept well, but the one flaw is that it left so many things hanging to the point you'll have to read the light novels. Ain't got no time for that so bring on season 2, already~.

Now to might as well do Log Horizon since people consistently gave praise for every time I've drawn up Accel World + Sword Art Online comparisons.

The world should be fans of Accel World instead of Sword Art in my opinion, but it was based on a light novel, which means most of the time they don't get an ending. Beh. Sakurasou at least got somewhere that looked like an ending.

Log Horizon... I've heard people don't like the second season, and I can kinda see why they wouldn't, but I enjoyed it a lot. They changed studios and the animation quality isn't as great, but at worst I would call it average. The first season, on the other hand, is phenomenal. It's a very refreshing take on what it means to be a hero, which is common in the writer's other novels. Some people might say the main character is overpowered, but... no. He is unbeatable at certain things, but he can't solo raid bosses because plot says so like other less well-written characters.

DeviantProtagonist:
So I'm aware of Log Horizon's uncommon protagonist tropes. I do enjoy my nice subversions in anime, particularly when humor is deftly handled as was the case in Noragami -- endearing and ironic, though not obviously forced. This series looks to give the same in regards to both points. :3

Naryoril:
I think season 1 of Log Horizon really stands out among the other "mmo-reality-mix" series because all the fighting is just a side plot and the focus instead lies on the social aspects: how to build a society in this world? What rules and laws should count and how to enforce them? How to deal with NPCs? How to deal with the difference of low level characters (which strangely enough are all children...) and max level characters? This makes Log Horizon season 1 one of my absolute favorite animes.

Season 2 switches the importance of fighting and the social aspects, and thus becomes "just-another-mmo-reality-mix-series". It's not bad by any means by itself, but it can't hold the candle to season 1, which it obviously is always compared to.

Btw: I'm really looking forward to Working!! season 3. Afaik it should start in the summer season.

I am currently watching all fate related series xD
