Highschool of the Dead is not a bad choice imo, it's a really interesting anime
Kaleido Star is the deal. You must watch both seasons as it's the one of the best anime. Check out also the 2nd season OP!

Clannad  was great I highly recommend it. of course make sure watch After Story as well.

if you want something thats just all over the place and is funny I would recommend Sayanora Zetsubou Sensei (did i spell it right?)

I recommend Trigun and Kino's Journey, and if you don't mind manga, Trigun Maximum. Trigun Maximum is better than Trigun, but I still recommend seeing Trigun the anime first, because it's still pretty good.
