Evryone! Could you tell me tath the next video is a FAKE or REAL?

http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm14736563

Before Yukiho's S4U performance the songlist is showen full with L4U and other (PSP?) song (34 songs).
It is possible to manipulate the IDOLM@STER2 game in tath way??

(I've seen tath youtube user tsukushi1 had manipulated L4U so that S4U song and costum were is L4U.)

EDIT: Oh, it seems a fake. Google translator show that about the title.

And I've just hoped that is possible to put a L4U song in S4U.

They're pretty crafty.  ;) I'm impressed.
I like how they had Alright and Lost Meaning in there too.

;~; It's making me miss Yukiho!

For most part, it would have been neat (from a technical point of view) if the data's actually structured the same way for an im@s 2 L4U port to be made possible.

Still, it's a nice dream, but honestly, if anything I'd actually reverse the transition (Namely from im@s 2 -> L4U) for various technical reasons. If that was possible, you'd see one heck of a MAD rush (Namely, new dance movements in a fully MAD editable envrionment.) with the new tool.

It seems to be possible the data transition from im@s2 to L4U:
Magare in L4U:

Pink Diamond 765 - Luxury costume in L4U:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFPkAbB9no4
They are all  tsukushi1's videos. And there are other things like bone structure of the idols model:

I wonder how tsukushi1 do them?

It's been known in L4U that you can actually hack in various new models (And in the comments, he makes note about how to transfer the costume across and the model he used). Needless to say, the only way to do this is to modify the game disc, and this in turn requires a modded Xbox 360 to be able to run a modified version of the game.

I remember someone showing me some of the im@s L4U files and im@s 1 files. Seeing the training stage exist as a fully operable stage was interesting. Since I was looking at the files through a PC, there was no way for me to 'play it back' and I don't own a modified Xbox 360 to be able to do a stage swap.

The last link is showing the actual wireframe used. All the models in L4U use that wireframe as the base for dancing, shrunk or made bigger depending on which model is on stage. I'm THINKING that im@s 2 does the same, but I may be wrong, since some of them seem to have VERY slightly altered dance movements. I haven't stared at it enough.

Basically, if you've seen MMD, you'd have an idea how those wireframes work. Granted the im@s series had the advantage in using motion capture to create the moves, instead of having to do it programatically (which is quite a bit slower) although that's changed with the MMD being used with Kinect.

It was kept relatively hush hush (For fairly obvious reasons) but there WAS an interesting one that leaked out - namely one which used Kotori to do i that caused a bit of a stir. That was done entirely in game, and from memory used an altered Iori (Or was it Haruka? It's been a while.) but it's frowned upon to use the im@s L4U engine like that in MADs only beause it's considered cheating (As MMD is considered the 'legit way' of doing this).

I'll also note it's considered mostly illegal, since you SHOULDN'T be able to get DLC on a modded Xbox since you can't connect, and the whole 'Well, you can steal the DLC by unlocking it' deal.

I imagine it'll change a bit as the game gets older and the community thinks it's fair game. I'm all for discovery myself, but NBGI may not approve of the reverse engineering process.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOBbrcLGvEE&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL

This should explain what I mean faster than anything else.

I wouldn't actually be TOO surprised if the im@s 2 L4U spoof was actually a preliminary hacking effort to discover im@s 2's file structure, and they succeeded in switching the im@s 2 standard list with the im@s L4U list. It wouldn't surprise me.

By the LOOKS of it, at least one of the songs can be transitioned over (at least in Solo mode) since the wireframe behaved right.

What interested me was the fact it was zoomed in, suggesting that not quite all the wireframe commands transitted over. Not surprising, because of the fact that extra joints exist in im@s 2's engine that weren't in L4U's one, so consequently, trying to marry the two would require manual work.

It's nice to see the work going at quite a pace though.

I've suspected tath things are not fully legal at those videos. Because I havn't seen elsewhere videos like tsukushi1's, but they are nice.
And tath is way you could not do tath 90 degree fliped/turned frame request for someone.

Well, depends where you are in the world. In the US, there's probably a case for DCMA since you broke the protection on the 360 to do so, although you could apply for an exemption I guess, for fair use practices (After all, the hardware is purchased legally, you modded it yourself, and as long as you purchased the software in question, well there's nothing else to be hauled up on.)

In Australia? Possible copyright infringement due to the fact you never obtained permission to use the data that way (Although if you apply computer product rules, it'd be legal since you do have the software, which sort of brings an interesting legal question) although reverse engineering is in fact legal (And so are mod chips, due to a Sony case which horribly backfired in their face) although I can't see anyone getting hauled up until they tried doing it in public.

Most of the rest of the world? Possibly a copyright infringement charge, depending if they consider modifying your hardware illegal or not. MS nor NBGI have that much money to do otherwise.

Japan might have no issue with the modding, but have issue with the copyright infringement, but then again, NBGI's sort of ignoring NND here...

The above is NOT legal advice by the way.

I'd ask my IP lawyer on retainer to answer the question, but it's midnight, I'd have to pay him extra and it's not exactly a burning question to justify dropping a couple of hundred for just to clarify.

Seeing some of the more interesting mods does give me an idea (If you saw it, there's a video where the lyrics were coded to force Haruka to sing the entire song) and I'm guessing that if you alter the lyrics, that cutting them entirely should look trivial...

But back to im@s 2 - it does suggest that they CAN port the wireframe data (and cut down a lot of the work) to bring out PSP and L4U songs in the future. Heck, I wouldn't be that surprised if DS had some data to swipe too.

I'm still willing to bet that there's a debug menu somewhere hidden in im@s 2 though...

Actually, there's still a couple of ways we can do Kat's before you ask.

I'll have to chase that tomorrow though, once I recover more than marginally. I'm sort of getting over the cold.

I believe I've seen a lot of hacks for the psp version. Although, one thing I would want to see with these hacks is the 961 boys dancing some girl songs and the girls dancing to their songs.
Seems like a relatively easy hack to me...I assume the boys and girls have the same bone structures.

All I'm going to say about both is this - I'm looking into it at all ends, although if anyone speaks Japanese, I'd appreciate someone who will be able to help me on that front. I've got development questions to ask, among other things.

All help is appreciated.

Back to NORMAL im@s 2 developments... Apparently even the Japanese aren't over Kyun! yet - the im@s weekly rankings are still putting in Kyun songs in the top 50...

*sigh*...
