Yeah, Play-Asia lists the Japanese first-print edition as twice the price of the Asian normal-run edition. Asian first-print edition is about 10US dollars cheaper than the Japanese one though.

There's no Asian version of L4U, I just checked. Idolmaster 2 is the first.

Ughhh I preordered this since it comes out on the same day as the MMP/PS bundle. I really didn't want to after hearing about the male idols though. Oh well. I'll just have to hope that it doesn't massively drop in price like various other games... it is fairly annoying to see my purchases being sold at a lower price.

There was an Asian release of L4U. I'm not sure about the original iMAS, but apparently the first game was pretty popular in places like Hong Kong. And so they decided to release L4U in Asia.

Some of my friends in Singapore bought L4U without knowing what the heck iMAS was. A recent conversation with one of them went something like this:

Me: Hey guys (randomly throwing out the following fact to my party of friends on XBL), Idolmaster 2 is coming out.
Friend who I didn't know had played L4U: Are you seriously going to get that? I got the first one and I completed it in like one afternoon.
Me: Erm... you're talking about L4U, which is this Taiko no Tatsujin style game, right?
Friend: Yeah it was something like that. I got it really cheap at Comics Connection.

Looks like they really want you to do well...if Idol Academy isn't the same thing as the Hell Training, it looks like your idols are in for a surprise if they're not doing well.

Yup. Getting nominated into the Idol Academy Taishou (Idol Academy Awards) is your goal in the game. To have a chance at a nomination, you have to release a hit single that's within top 20.

That particular paragraph you're referring says that, if you lose to RK during the Festival on the 10th week, the terrible atmosphere that follows might actually lead to your idol unit getting disbanded (the accompanying screenshot shows the producer suggesting maybe you should do a farewell concert; meaning the game will auto-pilot from week 1 to 10, and then after that if you make too many mistakes you might end up with a Game Over screen). And while all of that is going on, simultaneously 961's Jupiter is making waves and moving towards an Idol Academy Taishou nomination. To solve all these problems is your job as a producer.

In another paragraph, it'a also said that if you lose to RK on the tenth week, 765Pro Boss Takagi will suggest that you change leaders as a counter-measure.

What I'm particularly delighted to hear is that the game will apparently have "all the same songs from the previous games plus new songs like The World is All One and Megare!"

I like Megare also! Not as much as, say, Shiny Smile or Tonari ni, but it's pretty awesome!

Though it says it's easier than SP, really? Man, even with the time limits to win the Idol Ultimate Auditions, I managed to get Azusa through pretty easily on my first runthrough. Still, looking forward to it of course.

Just out of curiosity, would choosing the 'leader' pretty much be choosing the 'main' character, so to speak?
Edit: Course what I mean is how the 'Leader' would affect gameplay/story(?) so to speak. If anyone has any theories anyway.

Ah, anyways, it's rather awesome that it's only a little more than a month away now. The excitement is building~! I think I'll go choose my first team by play several triple-combinations of MEGARE simultaneously! Ufufufu~

what i think they mean is that some parts of the gameplay are easier, such as the auditions and training, which seems to have been reduced more to timed button pressing minigames. but there is more factors to think about this time around, such as budgeting your time and how you spend your money.

i get the impression that after the 10 week mark and battle with RGKM you will join sides to challenge 961. im still hoping for more rival groups in some shape or form.
