I think this was discussed a few times before, and I believe the general consensus was that it was a bad idea.
Ye, imagine a yandere idol in your three-idoll unit. It'll turn into a solo unit in a matter of time. :o

How about an idol that's really into fashion, and that often likes to change her hairstyle? Gives us more options for stage appearances. XD

Although it'd take a bit of space most likely, my own personal idea has always been a hair stylist function where different styles (straight, curly, many different ponytails, shorter, longer, etc.) would be selectable for each idol. XD;;
