Damn you Play Asia!

Last week I placed an order with play-asia for a 60 GB hard drive for my Xbox, among other things. It wasn’t in stock but it was labeled “ships within a week”. Today I contacted them asking how the things are going and got a disappointing reply. “We’re sorry, but don’t expect your items soon.” I was expecting to get the items till the end of the year because in January we have 10 holidays straight and nobody works and the package will be stuck at the customs. Geez, I thought 4 weeks should be enough because I ordered EMS shipping which usually delivers a package to my location in 8 days (the package arrives in 3 days actually, but is usually stuck at the customs office afterwards because of this stupid country I live in).

Shopping update.

Good news. I have received an automatic message saying that my order was shipped. I checked the tracking number and it says that my package is about to leave Hong Kong. We have 15 days till the New Year and 31th of December is a working day so there’s still a chance that I receive my package before the long holidays.
As for customer service, it seems that they are working separately from everyone else. Because you know, first they tell me that they are not going to ship my items any time before Christmas and the next day it turns out that they have already sent the package. Honestly it’s confusing to say the least.

i dont understand why you have to buy a hard drive from play asia and spend twice as much money when you can just buy one in your local game store...

Well, you judge from your place but here it's like desert, you can't find what you need. A local game store doesn't have any hard drives at all. Internet shops do have them but they set price at around $120 for a 20 gb version. When I checked play-asia I got very happy to find out that they have a 60 gb model for $130 +$42 for delivery. Plus I'm getting L4U! on DVD instead of downloading it.
It's that you have to understand that when you're far away from Japan everything gets twice as expensive. For example, xbox 360 actually costs only 18 thousand yen when I had to pay $500 for it.
