I was pretty surprised when I heard that School Days was using one of the yandere ends.
Out of, what, 20 endings?

It's my hobby playing visual novels(even if it's very boring) just to waste time.
School Days? I'm gonna look for that one.
I think it's better to play the game first before watching the anime.
Different issue in mangas though.
I've played Fate/Stay Night and the main hero is awesomely stupid.
There needs to be more yandere.
They're good for halloween.

otaku is another word that america has corrupted.
dont feel proud to call yourself otaku cause otaku is another word for hikikomori except your reasons are for games and anime instead of being totally jobless and lazy.
it doesn't mean "anime fan" it actually means "anime freak" someone who is a psychopath for anime.
if someone in japan calls you otaku, feel free to compare yourself with a sexual predator, stalker, or a victim of manslaughter.

Huh? Last time I saw the definition of the word, "otaku" means "hobbyist," thus referring to anyone who does an activity for spare time.

But yeah, you gotta hate those invented definitions.

"Yuri and Yaoi" - What do you think about this? FAGANIME

I really don't see the need for them. In my opinion, taco fiestas and sausage fests, respectively, of anime can exist without it. Maybe I'm just being moralistic or whatever, but truth be told, I really feel no difference if an anime has them or not.

Only a few "Parody" Animes succeed because there are only FEW parody animes. Some animes have some few parodies but i don't think that it would make that a parody anime. Still Lucky Star is a good example.

Another example is Nurse Witch Komugi-chan, which outshone its predecessor.

you mean Soul Taker? I loved that anime >< if not for the plot then at the very least for its crazy visual style.
Mind you, Soul Taker was a relatively serious anime (as serious as you can get with a transforming devil man theme) while Komugi was an obvious parody variety show.

On a different note, in regaurds to the meaning's behind words, Hentai when converted to the english fan base is a little more stronger conotation than in its origin language.
Regaurds to the word Otaku, in Japan it definately has a negative meaning in regaurds to it's application. Whenever a word or phrase is borrowed from another language it can change in value when it is used.

I know. I wondered how I got myself to sleep after watching the series straight on that night. XD It took me a while to get where the series is going, too (Only when Kyosuke went to the moon colony did I start to see things clearly.

Happens anywhere. It's alright, but what's not alright is the invented definition, which sometimes, is the opposite of what the word truly means.

You're close on there
otaku's direct definition means someone who has an interest on something or does something in particular as a hobby. the definition used in japan, or the actual definition; is someone who is absolutley batshit insane for anime or a psychopath, which happens to be a huge majority in japan.
but believe me, its no joke or compliment when someone calls you an otaku unless they're one themselves.
like i said if people in japan consider you otaku then feel free to stand next to sexual predators and stalkers in the lunch line.
the stupid part of japan is that they treat otakus as if they are minorities.
despite the fact that president miyazaki was an otaku

I think it's fine, as long as it's a legit part of the story and not just sexual tension between characters of the same gender slapped in for no reason other than marketing.

And if the meaning of moe is actually "fetish", then I suggest we use "kawaisa" (please don't shoot me) in its place for the trend of over-the-top cuteness.
Yattaaaa! The forum is back!!!

I think there is a side trend of NOT knowing what Moe is.
After reading wikipedia, generaly the consencus is the artistic style is that the girls are older than (in appearence and characterisation) than that would of lolicon, but still considered adolescent.
Due to the fact that it is animation, one could have an "adult moe" female that looks as young as her children.

Anime features characters and characterisations of people in society, if the audience cannot relate to the characters in a story anime simply becomes flashy cartoons.
It is not unheard of in live action media that you see actors that are much more attractive than real life counterparts, as such anime is simply copying the manners of which other media trends have moved.

In the end, Moe is simply a word used for describing an overgeneralized animation style, maybe in the next 10 years another more descriptive word will be added to our various slangs in use to describe anime based media.

Isn't Umineko no Naku Koro ni one of the newest Yandere/Yangire works out in the market?

Anyway Higurashi had more Yangire than Yandere.
