I can understand everyone's limitations in regards to region / cashflow / can't read Japanese / too busy playing Gears of War 2 edit: Modern Warfare 2 / etc. as to why you haven't played.

However, at least "play" a little demo of the arcade version:

This is uber-buried away on the official site so I'm not sure who has seen it here or not.

Ah, very interesting. Thanks for sharing the link.
The demo is just a few seconds long however. But it is the very im@s we all love, only displayed on a super-small screen. I checked Iori, you can even hear 2 first jokes there. The one from President Takagi and the only from Iori (“Who are you, dammit? I mean who would you be, sir?”). Other than that the screen is too small to see the kanji even if you know them.
I’m even happier now that I got the game. Xbox 360 has Miki and the visuals are much more appealing.

No, you don't have to stare at the black screen at all. You basically need a flash player. It either runs automatically or you'll have to click the playback button. If you access the page from the browser then the menu is accessible by clicking the right mouse button. I checked firefox and ie, both work perfectly.

Yeah, the thing requires flash.  It plays flash videos and then buttons prompt asking you to interact.  I get a black screen for a second then it kicks in.  Then you gotta click on it to get it going and such.
