I'm still experimenting with duos, myself (I used Makoto and Yukiho XD). I'd say, just split up everything evenly (or if one girl is a little low on tension, give her 4 lessons-sections and the other 2. She'll gain tension and the other girl won't lose any).
Whoever likes you the most (has the most promotions, really) will be your leader. So if you want to switch up morning greetings and the TV performances, that's how you do it. XD Using memories in auditions won't switch them, though.
...I unlocked trios, but I don't think I'm ready to go onto that. Fighting with a Ritsuko-Miki duo. I don't know if Ritsuko's bad tension is contagious or what, but man...it's hard. XD Miki's tension was never this low when I produced her as a solo.

Well, at least Ritsuko doesn't go into 'death-spirals' as much as Chihaya does. Miki also seems to lose quite a chunk of tension when you don't pick her for promotions and stuff. Or maybe that's the standard for all of them.
Ah well, once it's available, I'm gonna have to dip into Trios eventually. It might make a good sort of pseudo-practice for when Im@s 2 rolls around and they're mandatory.
Kind of awesome that it's only a bit more than a month away now.

It looks like iM@S2 runs on SP's system, a bit (the way that the lessons are timed so it's easier to get perfects, as well as the day being broken into time chunks rather than only one event), so I don't think it'd be so hard with trios. The 5-idol aspect is where it would get tricky, I think XD
