Started playing Heavy Rain. I'm amazed at how realistic looking the game is.

Yakuza 3 looks pretty awesome too.

I wonder why I haven't gotten Heavy Rain yet...

So I found the box set for Persona 3 just for $15.  Of course I'd buy it.

Now, this is my first Persona game.  I've spent an hour or two on it, and I actually can't find it's appeal as a game.  I mean, the setting and characters are interesting, but the daily formula seems tedious, and the battles don't seem so interesting.  Does it get better?

Been playing Ragnarok DS during the occasional quiet periods at work.

Speaking as someone who's never played the online version before, it's on the bland side of things but it's not too bad.

The online version is pretty bland too, apart from the occasional guild drama. You aren't missing out on much.

Finished Dragon Age Origins, playing Baldur's Gate (the original) now.

If you're still on the first month of the game, then there's really not much to do. There are a lot more 'visual novel' elements as you progress (Like grinding your Academic, Courage, and Charm stats; as well as your Social Links), along with dungeon crawling elements in Tartarus (Which you only really need to spend two in-game days on at a time). If you're also familiar with SMT Nocturne's format, you'll also notice that story sequences are spaced apart over long periods of time, and while that may be the case, the story sequences are actually quite heavy once you reach them.

While I absolutely love the game (played it six times through and spent 456 hours on it ), I don't think I could recommend it unless you are either a big fan of SMT, or into dungeon crawling/VNs. It definitely gets better though, in my opinion.

yes, perfection, except campaign and ai are retarded, they overwhelm you with over 9000 men per squad and your squadmates shoot walls instead of the enemy.
worse than legendary and veteran combined.

graphics are gorgeous, and the rest is very good, big ass maps too.

Pretty much what's been said by AweOfShe.  Persona 3 was also my first Persona game, and I think the appeal really comes through with the story.  Just... try to fight your way through it -- because I had the exact same feelings with you, the battles get better later on -- at least once your team stops whining about being tired after one floor.  But really, I think what pulled through for me in Persona 3 was the story.

It's a great game -- might want to play it with someone if you can -- but even with that, the campaign is still brutal.

Played Heavy Rain on my friend's PS3. I only played a half hour but it was enough to make me want to buy a PS3 just for that game alone.

Played the Just Cause 2 demo...and boy is it fun.

To summarize what I did just recently:
-Assassinate some important colonel with a sniper rifle
-Hijack a helicopter
-Find out that I'm getting hunted by other helicopters with miniguns.
-Get out of helicopter
-Use grappling hook and attach to said enemy helicopter
-Hijack that one
-Helicopter fight with another enemy helicopter
-Destroy it
-Fall out of the sky
-Use parachute, land safely.

THEN I'LL FINALLY HAVE RESONANCE OF FATE. Hnnnggghhhhhh

Meanwhile, I'm playing some good ol' Powerstone 2 to pass the time.

Ah yes. Hakan. The probably most unique 360 grappler to hit consoles. lol

He's so bizarre, I've seen people who seen him as the next best funny thing. XD

Anyway, left Draglade with all 9 characters unlocked. XD On to the sequel now. Surprisingly, I'm getting far even with the language barrier.

I'm gonna need a lot of MS Points, with the Nurburgring GP track and Jalopnik Car Pack for Forza 3, the Ferrari pack and the upcoming carpack for Shift, and Perfect Dark on XBLA coming up. @_@
