Damn, the DOOM Beta has been getting blasted harder than anything I've seen. :(

Since people are also reporting fan issues with the PS4, I'll steer clear of this one.
Suddenly, bow-wow-wow~. :3

I had some time to try the beta myself... and I'm kinda mixed to negative about it. Like I think the issue is that looking back, I felt like it was decent for a free FPS game. Then I realized this was a beta for a (supposedly) AAA title releasing soon for $60.

Now there were things I liked about it, don't get me wrong. It may not be as fast as the classics, but it still seemed faster than the CoD games it's inevitably compared to. A rocket launcher as a main weapon's pretty fun, the revenant mode is fun, and having a shooter where health pickups are a necessity is pretty refreshing. I may not play as many shooters nowadays to tell that off the bat, but it helps me to know that the person I'm shooting at isn't going to mostly recover after taking cover for a couple of seconds. Unfortunately, I'm hard-pressed to say much more good about it. The other weapons just handled so oddly for me, especially the shotgun. I felt like it worked better when you WEREN'T up close somehow. And maybe it's because I turned off aim assist (I played the beta on the Xbox for a couple of hours), but I still felt like your body hits did nothing if they weren't consistent. I also hated the muted effects of being shot at. Sure, the game shows you a convenient arrow to someone shooting at you. But I found I react more to getting shot at in games when there's a noticeable noise or image of me getting hit, and people shooting at you in this beta was just so damn silent. It felt like your best advantage was to get the first shot or sneak up on people... well, that or be a revenant. Despite all my initial troubles, I got 8 kills in a row as revenant before timing out of it.

Though even if most of this is cleaned up, the experience felt very... basic. It's certainly not enough to sell me on buying the game for it. I don't feel that bad since it was decent enough for a free try, but that's also not really a good thing.

I personally love Super Mario games like the Mario Kart series, New Super Mario Bros. series, and of course Super Smash Bros. series.  I wish I have a Wii U to play Super Mario Maker.

I realize that I haven't bought any amiibos, though sometimes I'm tempted to buy one whenever I go to an electronic store.

I could never find a Kirby amiibo.  Though, Mario is easy to find.

EDIT:

This is the video of the Squid Sister's Live Concert that Nintendo just released.

So this game hit my local arcade a couple months back, just found out about it last month tho(I haven't had a reason to visit until now lol) and gushed so hard.  I've always wanted to play it ever since I saw that one CG trailer for it, but I never thought it would ever leave Japan!

This is prolly the funnest and most addicting light gun game ever and I can't stop playing!(I'm sorry, wallet x. x) And the controls aren't as hard as I thought it would be, it's just difficult to master though.  I've been watching gameplay vids(freakin' Japanese and their crazy pro skillz) and studying the Japanese fan guide(using google translate rofl).  There's this specific function that I want to perform(it's just something minor, but it's so awesome/cute and I wanna know how to do it!), but I have no clue what to do.  I think I found the exact passage that explains how to do it, and I kinda get the gist of it?  But google translate can only do so much, it's hard to understand the specific details.  x. x

So if anyone with a good understanding of the language can be so kind and translate this for me?  Would be greatly appreciated!

It's basically just this dance thing you can perform to boost an ally or something.  You can see it being done here at the beginning of this battle.

Hmm... OK, I think I could buy this on summer. And dream with death.

BTW, I just saw that there'll be a new Shin Megami Tensei game. Although I don't know if I buy it. I kinda had enough of polemics (though I still like the series). :p

Dang, it's networked and everything? Never thought I'd see it out of Japan.

But you wanted a translation? Show me what you got.

The short version: Lock on to your ally and melee.
Point the guns away from the screen and push and hold the right stick in (i.e. push R3, don't point the guns away, and you'll lock on an enemy), or equip a weapon that targets allies. Melee after you do this, and regardless of L-stick direction, you'll bust a move. Speed up happens after the animations ends, which is around 8 seconds. Lasts for around 30 seconds, and apparently it's a pretty good speed boost.

That's it in a nutshell.

Been playing the Overwatch beta lately, and it's been pretty fun.

Normally I say I kinda suck at FPS games, but I got some decent plays in today. My first-time Genji was unexpectedly great... though maybe that's more because of the opposing team than anything else. Otherwise, I'm usually playing a Lucio or D.va, or playing some assault hero and being very bad.

My biggest take from Overwatch is that D.Va -- the gamer girl piloting an EVA-style mech -- is voiced none other by Kotoha's seiyuu, Risa Taneda. Color me sold on the Japanese version.

So supposedly the new Doom turned out to be good. Regardless of terrible boxart, lack of pre-release footage and review codes, terrible multiplayer farmed out to the guys that had their hands in Halo and COD MP and generally no original talent still working in the studio.

Also, if someone wants to watch someone playing it actually well: http://twitch.tv/DraQu_
He finished for today (after over 12 hours!), but he'll play tomorrow and VODs should be there anyway. Keep in mind he plays on Ultra-Nightmare (which has permadeath), so you'll see the beginning a lot.

Generic multiplayer aside, the one major sour point with Doom is that it uses Denuvo, an overbearing anti-tampering system for piracy. People from modding communities are flipping their shit because the Doom franchise is a known giant for user content -- this DRM effectively kills that.

Missed the fact. Definitely not cool. Also since we're at it, I think they also mentioned there will be no mod tools (not even a geniuine map editor), so SnapMap building blocks are all we can look up to. :-/
