After so many years, speculations, rumors, and moments of impossibility, The King of Fighters XIV is FINALLY a thing and is coming to PS4 in 2016! I am so freaking hyped!!!  ;D

You kind of have to admit the graphics are God awful. Given SNK's 3D track record, I wouldn't expect them to differ much from placeholders come game release.

On a far more substantial note, PlayStation 4 confirmed with a $100 price drop. :3

There's something in me that hopes the footage shown doesn't represent the final game and it ends up looking better than what we have.

At this point, I'm just fine with a brand new console game after five years of nothing but Pachinko and mobile ports.

Also, the PS4 price cut is Japan-only so far. Not sure if this'll mean anything in the West, but I hope it does.

I just started Fire Emblem: Awakening a few days ago and... Ugh. The pain.

This is my first Fire Emblem, and I'm on Hard/Classic, since I feel like I should do that at least once in my life. Next Fire Emblem game I play... screw this Classic stuff. I mean, I like a penalty for losing a unit, as long as it's not perma-death. Maybe you should lose HP and stats temporarily each time you go down, and you have to go out of your way to get them back. You know... something that still hurts, but isn't perma-death.

The Exp. and random stat gains are straight out of 1980 as well. Most modern TRPGs I can think of make stat gains more stable, which I think is a good thing - at any level, you know exactly the amount of leveling resources you have, which makes planning easier and doesn't give a player a crappy character because the heart of the dice turned black for two seconds.

And Mission 7 was a god damn pain. I'm somehow enjoying the game despite the outdated design, though. ^_^;
