This is why Nintendo should never artificially limit their amiibo products. It allows scalpers to take advantage of that artificial demanding and make money out of the ignorant buyers. Watch to see a butt load of these Splatoon SE games on Ebay. Still, I'm amazed that people these days are going this far to get these toys. This never happen on similar figures before it.

Actually if they made up a majority of the allocation to the UK, trying to sell them would just get you arrested. If anything, it shows the people who targeted this shipment are amateurs, and are going to find out very quickly they can't sell them.
If you know much about logistics, and security, you'd realise very quickly why this would be the case.
The first rule of selling stolen goods - never steal something that can be blatantly obviously identified as stolen, because their actual value drops to zero. Anyone on E-bay selling the thing better be holding onto their receipts and shipping invoices.
What is most likely going to happen is either a small crime ring get arrested (For rightfully being morons) or the vast majority of the figures will be found abandoned somewhere with the container they were in. The professionals in the scene wouldn't make such a fundamental mistake, and would have targeted a different shipment.
The other thing to note is that the UK actually has known theft areas for shipping routes where things get stolen. Containers and trucks carrying stuff get stolen all the time. If you worked in international shipping, you'd even know this isn't uncommon. It's a common insurable event for a reason.
GAME or Nintendo (If they had any sense) should have put insurance to cover the consignment, and shouldn't be out of pocket for the event either.
It sucks, but frankly it shows that the people who hit that consignment aren't very good at their profession.
