Nice. Rainbow Road is a given, and if I recall correctly, that does remind me of how it's first remake in one of those GC games had the railings removed altogether -- straight up evil stuff, man. Wonder if that carries over to this one? Barring that, Toad's Turnpike and Yoshi Valley are probably as dickish as ever.

>:3

Actually, Yoshi Valley now displays what place you're in so its not as bad. :P

I'm really enjoying Mario Kart 8 too! I've been spending a bit of time unlocking characters and gear, but I still have yet to try an online race. I'm not quite sure who I'm the most comfortable with either. I usually race with Yoshi.

I'm finding it interesting you can race as the Koopa Kids for the first time in the series. I'm thinking of trying out Ludwig von Koopa once he becomes available.

I was wondering what took them so long to include the Koopalings. Also, send me your Nintendo Network ID so we can race sometime. I always pick either Daisy or Waluigi!

Getting a Wii U/MK8 is not my first priority, but it is something on my list. I've a few questions mechanics-wise for those who DO own it, though, namely -

- Are stats distributed by individual character, or do characters have separate weight classes they're placed into? (For example, in 7, there were 5 weight classes which all character options were divided by - Feather, Light, Medium, Cruiser, Heavy - with set stats in each class)
- Were any gamebreaking online glitches found? (Hi Maka Wuhu.)
- Most importantly, did bike mechanics get balanced? (If you've played MKWii you probably know what I'm talking about, but if not, basically using a bike was superior to a kart because of wheelie boosting, you couldn't turn in a bike but if you were good enough, this wouldn't matter, so in general bikes were the primary)

-Characters are separated by weight class just like in every Mario Kart game.

-Not that I know of. I have not played online as much as I want to (mainly because I kept getting connection errors) and I haven't heard of any yet.

-Bikes are actually balanced! Wheelie Boosting is completely omitted and bikes only have priority over karts in certain tracks.

Spending way too much time on God Eater 2.

Just made it to Rank 10 missions, and I've been grinding out Blood Arts. Don't think I'll get all of them though, since that would take too much time. The game still won't let me equip the Rank 11 stuff I carried over from the last game.

... And there's an expansion coming out pretty soon too. I'll be at this game forever.

MORTAL KOMBAT!!!!!!!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjS10IpQkJ0

As much as I loved Injustice, I have been waiting so damn long for this one! From the looks of the trailer, Mortal Kombat X looks like a refined Mortal Kombat 9 with some elements of Injustice, mainly with environmental interactions. Can't wait! ^-^!

Also, how is Sub-Zero alive and human again? I remember he was turned into a cyborg in the last game and was killed that way.  ???

So how many times has Scorpion killed Sub-Zero? Pretty sure I've lost count. That and tacky hip-hop aside, this video was pretty damn smooth, as was the transitions between the X-Rays and the environmental hazards.

As for him being alive, far be it from Netherrealm to not use the Dragon Balls or even recton things in their canon, I imagine. They went so far with the time thing, anyway.

Will probably skip. As much as I enjoyed the first Mortal Kombat games, MK9 was a huge disappointment for me. Couldn't get into it at all.

................ I think Ultra Street Fighter IV is a fantastic add-on and is becoming my favorite installment in the Street Fighter IV sub-series.

Then again, they have said multiple times that death isn't much of an issue in the MK Universe. Or maybe that's different with the new timeline......

After breaking free from the addictive grip of Mario Kart 8, I'm getting my producing genes ready for Neptunia PP. I think I'll take a crack at Noire's path first because Asami Imai.

Right now I'm practicing in Unlimited Concert mode so my debut live will be spotless.

Personally, I think Red Focus and Ultra Double seem tacked on as gameplay mechanics, but we'll see how they play out. Some characters could be broken, they might not be...

Give it time for all the tournaments to happen, and for the best players to figure out what's broken and what's not. Some games are hard to judge when they first come out, especially fighting games.

I experimented with the new mechanics. Red Focus is definitely my favorite of the three as its a great way to counteract annoying multi-hit attacks, especially against Ken. The command is really weird, though, as it's LP+MP+MK. Ultra Combo Double is nice to have, but I prefer to choose one Ultra for damage sake. Really, the only slightly unnecessary mechanic I have found is Delayed Wake-Up. I never used it and saw no point in using it, though EVO could prove me wrong. :P

Judging by how the delayed wake-up works, I imagine it's a game-changer solely based on how it craps all over vortex characters. :3

Any fellow Pokefans out there? I read about the new Megas getting introduced in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Turns out the other two Hoenn starters will get Mega forms along with Blaziken.

Mega Swampert keeps its Water-Ground type and gains Swift Swim. Makes me wonder if that speed boost will help it back into the higher competitive tiers, especially in standard rain teams (still not sure if Drizzle/Swift Swim combo is still banned after weather effects got nerfed in Gen VI).

Poor Sceptile got the short end of the stick again...after getting a so-so hidden ability last generation (Unburden), its Mega form is a Grass-Dragon type with Lightning Rod. Kind of a pointless immunity for a typing with a double-resistance to Electric while also giving it a double-weakness to the ever-popular Ice type.

The new legendary Diancie will get a Mega form too...but it's ability is still unknown according to serebii.net.

R.I.P. Playstation Portable (2004-2014)  :'(

http://sgcafe.com/2014/06/sayonara-psp-sony-halts-shipments-playstation-portable-japan/

Speaking of the PSP, Ragnarok Tactics is still on sale for $10 in the US PlayStation Store. I didn't buy it until a week ago when I discovered the sale, and it turns out to be fun and addictive. I can't write a full review of it, though, because I haven't finished it yet.
