That's not to say Origins didn't execute it wonderfully with the sidequests and worldbuilding, but the Origins story was pretty much just as weak as Dragon Age 2's, so that can't really be a huge point that they're trying to make. Plus, the story of Dragon Age 2 didn't have any major plot holes either, so it was done rather decently.

Dragon Age 2's main downfalls were repeated environs and the story, and otherwise kept up the standard of Origins in terms of dialogue and writing, not to mention improving on the designs of the races and also fixing that annoyingly stale combat while keeping the element of tactics. There just wasn't any reason for the huge backlash for it, because there really wasn't anything major to complain about.

It just seemed to me like it was a huge case of bandwagon sequel hate. People expected the sequel to suck and by God they were going to react as if the sequel sucked, regardless of the fact that the sequel did in fact NOT suck.

Huh...that makes sense.

Anyway, been getting my start in the Atelier series by playing through Atelier Meruru. I like the balancing act between developing your kingdom, alchemy, and level grinding. The characters themselves are fun to see...

And I like how the newspaper notes what you done. On a related note: I am *not* committing acts of Puni cruelty. I am *not* a genocidal maniac hell-bent on killing their existence through spiked balls and bombs, with reports of cannon fire, too.

Totori is waiting for the right time to burn the whole kingdom and kidnap Meruru, Keina is a witch, Rufus is the true power behind the throne, the king thinks alchemy is the Devil's work, Filly is sent by the kingdom of Arland to secure their position over the kingdom of Arls, and Hanna is working for another side looking to discredit both kingdoms. And Lias sucks at his gatekeeping job.

I bought two games at the same time - Diablo II and Kingdoms of Amalur - and I'm currently engaged in a ferocious internal debate on which one to play first. I'm thinking Diablo II since my friend really wants me to play it online with him, but... Kingdoms of Amalur is really fun.  :(

I really need to pick up the Atelier series. I have Atelier Iris 2, but none of the others, and since I liked Atelier Iris 2... But a lot of the later games are PS3 only, and I have an Xbox 360.

So yeah, no Vita games at the moment since I downloaded another Japanese game off the Japanese PSN network...I bought Shining Hearts since I watched that anime and I was kind of unsatisfied with the ending. But yes, finished the very first stuff in the game with some quests and delivering bread to Flora I think...

Of course, there are apparent differences from the game and the Anime with the former being way better. Still, using those Japanese radicals since I only know a handful of Kanji is painful, although I almost finished all the elementary Japanese grammar.

So like... while I wasn't looking they added Easy Mode to Dragon's Dogma.

... Seriously? How about a Hard Mode, 'cause I'm in my own easy mode right now - doing every quest I can get my hands on has overlevelled me, and I'm wishing I could cap my level.
