I made the mistake early this year of linking my credit card with my Nintendo 3DS :P ... Needless to say, I have an obscene amount of games to catch up to. I also made a commitment to myself of beating the entire Castlevania series (from 1 to SOTN) and Panzer Dragoon Series in the following three months since I'm son summer vacation already. Hope I'll make it  ;D

Funny thing, I finished 7th Dragon 2020 yesterday (as in, completely beat, extra dungeon, and having played about as many team combinations that the game almost can't offer me anything more), and SakuTai 3 is one of the games on the radar. Maybe I should pop it on while I simultaneously go through the list of games Cael forgot... some because they were terrible.

EDIT: Review is up on my blog, for those of you who are interested. I like this series. A. Lot.

You really should! ;D I actually haven't finished 4 yet, though I hear I'm not missing much. I'd still like to go through it, just because it's ST.
There's actually quite a few Dreamcast games I still haven't finished (because of my PSO addiction back then). Segagaga being one of them. >_<

Also, nice write up on 7th Dragon 2020. I'd totally pick it up if I wasn't on a crazy backlog as it is. >_<

Well, just had this.

To explain: in World of Tanks, there's two teams of 15 tanks. And I was driving a tank with paper-thin armor.

I have to thank the guy who took a picture of it.

Goodness did  you spend the whole game hiding in a conveniently tank-sized bush?

Goodness did  you spend the whole game hiding in a conveniently tank-sized bush?

Well, yes and no.

The tank I was playing is actually a tank destroyer: technically not a tank, but screw it. Anyway, they usually have good frontal armor and a limited firing arc; they usually don't have turrets. So you'd usually have to hide and shoot while facing the enemy.

The US M8A1 tank destroyer is different. It lacks good frontal armor, but it has a turret, a fast firing gun, and speed.

So, I was hiding in bushes and taking shots, but I was also dashing around the battlefield. Also had to "dogfight", or engage up close. Usually a bad idea, since the turret turns slow. However, I went up close with self-propelled guns, which works like a usual tank destroyer when not being artillery.

I ran out of ammo by the end of the match.

---
Clarification: there are 5 types of tanks in World of Tanks: Light, Medium, Heavy, Tank Destroyers, and Self-Propelled Guns

-Light tanks: Have speed, but have paper-thin armor. Usually used for finding out where the other team is and usually die fast. They also don't have much punch, with the exception of the high-tier French lights, which carry powerful cannons that can be fired 6 times in rapid succession, before having to reload.

-Medium tanks: They can have the speed of light tanks, with firepower reminiscent of Heavy tanks. Jack of all trades, master of none. They are primarily used for going to an enemy tank's sides quickly. Some, like the Russian T-54, are feared for being really fast, maneuverable, and having good amounts of firepower, while having good armor.

-Heavy tanks: Slow, but carry the most armor and have some of the most powerful cannons, these are the spearheads of an assault. They can usually take damage and dish them out, but can fall through concentrated fire. A lot of variation is here, as Russian heavies have the most armor and powerful cannons at the cost of not being good in accuracy, German heavies have more accurate cannons with lessened damage, American heavies have awesome turret armor but weak hull armor, and French heavies are fast and can have the same kinds of cannons as their light tank brethren, but really can't take a hit.

-Tank Destroyers: As I said, they have good frontal armor, but the majority do not have turrets, so they're limited to a firing arc in front. If they want to fire on a target outside of their arc, people have to move the whole tank in that direction. They also hide very well in bushes, so they're like snipers, but having to move the tank constantly breaks their ability to hide. The American TD's are special in that some have turrets, and turning them doesn't break their ability to hide. Some American TD's also have speed at the cost of armor.

-Self-Propelled Guns: Called "arty" or "arties", they work like, well, artillery, lobbing shells to the enemy from far away. They have the most powerful cannons, and can really put the hurt on a tank, if not take it out, in one shot. However, they have long reload times, and when faced in a situation where they have to be like tank destroyers, they usually lose since they can't turn fast, too.

I couldn't get into WoT when I played the beta.  I'm looking forward to World of Warplanes though if we get to have the Kyushu J7W1 Shinden in it.
