Timeleap Paradise
« on: August 20, 2009, 01:04:20 am »
Well, I believe you guys need no introduction to Timeleap's sequal. Timeleap Paradise can be called the H-Idolm@ster of the PC. The game is to be released August 28th. The game itself seems to play like Princess Maker. Game has some nice coreography, but also some terrible camera at the same time. The original Timeleap didn't actually have any singing or dancing (Only it's benchmark demo did).

The guys who made the game (Frontwing) collaborated with other H-companies. There are some songs and costumes you will find... familiar. I added Youtube links to those who can't get it to load.

Cost: ~100 US Dollars

Note: This game needs 20 gigs of free space.

Game Synopsis: (Stolen from http://www.erogeshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/1012378)
Though there will be its 100th anniversary of Hamagase Shrine next year, the shrine building is very old. They want to have it repaired, but they don't have enough money. The main character and his friends hear it and decide to earn money. Ayumu comes up with an idea, "How about holding a festival every weekend and earn money?" As a main event of the festival, they plan to carry out a concert and dance show....

I don't care what was written before or after this, this alone makes me want to get it.
And yet you all know I can't for other reasons...
Also hurry for Mizusu Costume!

You call yourself a Key fan but ignore Little Busters?

I've played the demo of the original Time Leap and felt it to be meh.  Graphics were great though.

o___O; didn't Timeleap just... come out a couple of weeks ago?  (or a month ago, I can't remember).

I played the demo of the original -- and... I liked the graphics? (asked me if I understood anything, I can tell you nothin')

I do admit, I like Little Busters being sung~

The 360 version did just release a month ago, but the PC version has been out for a while now.

Still remember the hype when the boot bench was released. Good times.

Okay, so I don't keep up with Key's newer releases, so shoot me.

I edited the first post to include a story synopsis, the approximate price (man, H-games are getting expensive), and a pretty hefty requirement. I don't remember any game needing 20 gigs, except for Phantasy Star Universe, World of Warcraft, and maybe GTA 4.

Edit: I notice the reply/modify textbox auto scrolls upward. Very irritating.

TimeLeap's graphic engine just totally sucked on the PC. Hope this time they make some improvements on this release...

I swear, most Japanese 3D eroge makers suck at 3D engines.
Teatime sucked big time with Love Death 2/3, while Frontwing disappointed with Timeleap.

Put into consideration the technology and budget these guys have to work with. PC Gaming is basically more or less dead in Japan. Japan is heavily console based, and that's the way they like it. It's harder to pirate consoles and console games, more revenue for the big corps. They're slowly working their way up there, going through all the flaws modern games have already gone through.

The biggest problem with all their 3D engines is the lack of optimization, hence the massive amount of space they take up on the hard drive. I believe only Illusion Soft optimizes their engine somewhat, as well as those guys who made Itazura Gokuaku.

Edit: Huh, they released a 6 disc box set of the soundtrack before the game was released.

It's almost as pointless as releasing Colorful Days and Overmaster before SP's release, right?

It's a nice soundtrack, but 10,000 JPY is not something I'd spend at once for a soundtrack.

Also, "BAD COMMUNICATION"?  Definitely thought of iM@S first thing.
