I take shipping seriously, but not seriously enough to start a fan war or anything. If something pops up confirming my ships I go insane.
Which is why I hated the Neue Green manga because MakoRyo was SO CLOSE to being canon and then like they weren't and I died a bit.
I guess I almost feel...I don't want to say "left out", but it's almost like I'm an "outcast", for lack of a better word...? Because for this series, it's a lot harder to find people who don't ship yuri than it is to find those that do, and that kinda...I mean, iM@S makes that kinda easy, really, the very inclusion of Makoto makes that pretty easy. But I digress.

No, I get where you're coming from. Its inevitable, but its not for everybody. The closest straight ships we have that I know of are Ryo/Makoto or Yumeko, Producer/Miki or Azusa, and Touma/Haruka.
ZetaFlare:
Yeah, as cute as they appear sometimes, I do not take yuri pairings seriously either as they are mostly fanon. I mean, look at MakiNico...or to a greater extent, NozoEli. Besties, but clearly not lesbos in the anime.
I don't take R18+ doujins seriously either. Lesbo or straight, it's just about fulfilling the fanon's sick desires. I said it before, I'll say it again. I enjoy a little service, but watching my favorite girls get downright defiled just makes me sick. Take Miki for instance. MikixP may be somewhat canon, but that doesn't mean they are THAT close! Ugh! Kissing is fine with me, even accidental groping or panty-peeping (gotta love the girl's instinctive reactions sometimes), but I'd rather let my golden angel keep her precious flower. Besides, according to Japan's Ordinance for the Protection of Youth, only Ritsuko, Azusa, and (as of 2nd Vision) Takane are technically legal when it comes to "that" kind of stuff.
As for me...ZETAxMIKI ALL THE WAY!!! *shot*

Again, not hating on gays here. They exist, people support them, that's totally fine. I don't, but I'll still love the person anyways. I just need that cleared up so I don't start a debate over here.

Since you brought it up at all, I'll only say this is rather contradictory; if homosexuality makes you cringe then what use is there to mention that? It's more a derogative statement towards 'gays' than anything, and by right there's virtually no difference between girlxgirl or guyxguy relationships.
Virgofall:
If I try to take any sort of shipping seriously in this fandom, I'm just going to have issues - there's either too much canon evidence or there's absolutely none, and there isn't an actual shipping canon to talk of with this series so far as a storyline goes, just individual routes. The only thing one can probably actively confirm is canon on nearly every level is Miki's having a crush on P.
It doesn't matter what type of pairing on this matter. I don't really mind homosexual pairings, but nor do I actually actively support them - nor any other, in this fandom. I'm not typically supportive of pairings without some sort of canon evidence no matter which type. For iM@S specifically, I just don't care, mostly because there's only one thing which has stayed constant in each continuity where pairings go. (This also means I don't mind crack so much as I would with other fandoms. As far as I'm concerned, there is almost no canon. In other fandoms, I do have an issue with them when there isn't evidence and/or what evidence there is clearly states otherwise.)

Don't forget Hokuto/Makoto and Hokuto/Azusa.
I'm glad that made sense. :U It seems I'm not nearly as alone as I thought I was, which is nice.

I can see what you mean, yeah.
So it seems like most of the members of this forum don't really take the yuri shipping seriously, but they acknowledge the fact that it exists. Kinda like that?

What it boils down to is "Hate the sin, not the sinner." "Hate" is a bit of a strong word, but overall accurate. If you've never heard that, basically what it means that that I don't like what the person is doing, but I still like the PERSON themselves. Does that kinda clear it up a bit?
Like, I don't like homosexuality, but I have two best friends who have told me they're bisexual, and while I don't approve of that, those PEOPLE themselves are still some of my best friends. Just because they're bi does not, by any means, mean I disapprove of THEM. Just what they do, and we can still get along.
This is swaying towards debate territory, whoops. :U There's always PM just in case.
