OK, I had to ask this question and I honestly don't know of anywhere else to ask it.
Am I the only iDOLM@STER fan period that DOESN'T LIKE yuri pairings at all? I mean, seriously. I think I'm the only member of this fandom that doesn't ship any yuri or yaoi pairings at all. I just don't really...like it. I don't. You can, that is totally fine, I get that people do and you know what, that doesn't bother me. But I personally don't support homosexuality, so to me yuri pairings just kinda...make me cringe.
I love Chihaya and Haruka as best friends.
I love Makoto and Yukiho as best friends.
I love Yayoi and Iori as best friends.
I think they are the cutest things in the world.
But to ship them? Just feels...weird, to me.
Again, not hating on gays here. They exist, people support them, that's totally fine. I don't, but I'll still love the person anyways. I just need that cleared up so I don't start a debate over here.
It's just not my cup of tea. Am I alone? .-.
(This is probably weird for you guys to read considering how much I freaking adore Makoto, but like...does that even count? X'D Especially considering that's more of a "OMG I love this character she's so cute and just hnng" and less of a "LET'S GET MARRIED." ...But I do love her.
But ho boy, do I have my fair share of crushes on dudes.

Well, it seems like no matter what anime you watch, there's always some kind of yuri or yaoi shipping going on - whether it's implied in the anime itself or in the fandom. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong. That's just been my experience with the animes I've watched so far.
I understand where you're coming from though. To me, it doesn't matter either way. I'm sure there are quite a few people who do agree with you.

I can certainly agree with that.
Because of the predominantly female cast (there are like, what, maybe fifteen guys including the SideM cast?) in iDOLM@STER, most likely, it seems like every fan I've come across (except maybe two, and excluding my little sister who doesn't count because we're like the same person) ships at least one yuri pairing in iM@S. Straight pairings are kinda hard to pull out, I understand, because of the predominantly female cast, but I'm curious to see if there's anyone but me who just flat-out doesn't have yuri ships.

There's over 40 men thanks to SideM.
But I do see where both of you are coming from. For a series like this, yuri pairings are hard to avoid. Same thing happens with other franchises with mainly female casts such as Touhou and Kantai Collection. I honestly don't take shippings seriously AT ALL. Like, AT ALL. I just do it as simple teasings and jokes. I don't actually ship couples unless there is legitimate canon evidence (like Sonic and Amy).

That many? Nice.
I take shipping seriously, but not seriously enough to start a fan war or anything. If something pops up confirming my ships I go insane.
Which is why I hated the Neue Green manga because MakoRyo was SO CLOSE to being canon and then like they weren't and I died a bit.
I guess I almost feel...I don't want to say "left out", but it's almost like I'm an "outcast", for lack of a better word...? Because for this series, it's a lot harder to find people who don't ship yuri than it is to find those that do, and that kinda...I mean, iM@S makes that kinda easy, really, the very inclusion of Makoto makes that pretty easy. But I digress.
