They better make, even if small, changes to the girls and Ryo's storyline, so people won't be bored if they play it (assuming it'll come, and they're still there).

Oh, and while they're at it: More idols please! *puppy eyes*

It seemed like they had a spare idol in each path with this in mind.

Mai, Cineria, and Yumeko

I don't think producing Mai would be such a good thing XD She has already passed on her idol life, right?

Cineria and Yumeko, though = yes please.

Fix the auditions, and we're talking. Heck, give it the old Arcadem@s/360/SP auditions and we're talking. I'm sure a lot of people'd love that.

I haven't been able to find a video, what are the audition like in IM@S DS?

I can't provide you a video, but it's very short (30 seconds? I'm not sure, I haven't played it in a loooong time) and the only thing you can do is use Memory Appeals. Memory Appeal goes across the touch screen, and you just have to tap the good memories.

Naturally, the more good memory appeals, the higher your chance of winning the audition. But it's still a bit luck-based, as you can get all good appeals and still lose...

It doesn't even play the song that you're using in your idol adventure, iirc. The 30 seconds is an instrumental short remake of "Hello!!"

To add to TweenDoriru's post, you'll start with full interest bar of 90%, but it'll drop with a speed based on your stats; better stats is lesser decline.
To raise the bar you use an appeal like mentioned before.
The percentage you have left at the end of an audition is the chance you'll win.
Because the minimum and maximum you can get are 10 and 90% respectively, you can lose an audition with a full bar as well as winning one with an empty bar.

I personally never lost an audition, and had my success rates at a constant 80 - 90%, so I can't verify myself if you can still lose while doing everything right, but if there's one thing to learn from 80's RPGs, it's that luck battles are never good.

It happened to me both ways before :|
If you dont want to waste time doing lessons all the time and just want to go through the story the 10% thing's pretty nice.

You do not always start with 90%. That percentage is dependant upon your current image and stats. If the audition is Vocal and your image is also currently Vocal, along with having done many Vocal lessons, then it will be 90%. But if your image isn't the same or you haven't done any lessons it will be low. Personally, the lowest I've seen is 35%.

If anything, gameplay is non-existent in DS.
It's pretty much an interactive manga for the most part. A great manga, mind you.

I am playing through this game for the first time and also this is my first game into the IDOLM@STER series.  Here are my current stats, I also included the Japanese just in case.  Please excuse my bad translations:

Eri Mizutani [水谷絵理]
Idol Rank F [アイドルランク F]
Image Level 2 [イメージレベル 2]
F Rank - "An Idol Who Can't Sing?" [Fランク - 「歌わないアイドル?」]
And I am about to do the Promotion [営業]: Singing Research [歌い方の研究].

And I have these questions:

1.) Does Lessons [レッスン] really matter?  Whenever I tried to raise stats in one area, the other two always drop.  Maybe my Idol Rank [アイドルランク] is too low?  The only benefit I see is getting Choreography Panels [振付パネル] and making my Idol happy.  So I just kept Vocal [ボーカル] at three stars, Dance [ダンス] at 2 stars, and Visual [ビジュアル] at 1 star.

2.) When can I start doing an Auditions [オーディション]?  Every time I select it, it says "No Auditions - There are no auditions available at this time." [オーディションなし - 現在受けられうオーディションはありません。].  Do I need to finish all of my Promotions [営業] first?

3.) Is there a proper way to do the Schedules [スケジュール]?  I usually try to do Lessons [レッスン] on the weekdays and Promotions [営業] on the weekends.  Is there a time I should let her Rest [休む], aside from making her happy even though her Tension [テンション] meter is full?

I'm sorry for so many questions.  Thanks to anyone who can help me.

1. You gain more stats than you lose, but it gets annoying after a while.
2. iM@S DS wants you to finish marked promos first. You can't do an audition and advance to the next chapter of the story if you miss out on the main plot.
3. Scheduling's overrated, do whatever you want whenever you want, it's not like it matters neways cause there's no time limit in the game.

Thanks!  I'm glad that I have now more free range on what I can do with Eri.  Now time to finish up those Promotions.

I have a question: whats the game play like? i found a pretty cheep copy and am considering buying it but I'd like to know more about the game play first. I've never really heard all that much about it.

Not as 3D as the other games, of course. There's no time limit when choosing dialogue... I think.
I played it a little when I got the chance. Learned about that much until I realized I couldn't go on with the fact I can't read Japanese. orz
