Oh, and while they're at it: More idols please! *puppy eyes*

It seemed like they had a spare idol in each path with this in mind.

Mai, Cineria, and Yumeko

TweenDoriru:
I don't think producing Mai would be such a good thing XD She has already passed on her idol life, right?

Cineria and Yumeko, though = yes please.

I haven't been able to find a video, what are the audition like in IM@S DS?

I can't provide you a video, but it's very short (30 seconds? I'm not sure, I haven't played it in a loooong time) and the only thing you can do is use Memory Appeals. Memory Appeal goes across the touch screen, and you just have to tap the good memories.

Naturally, the more good memory appeals, the higher your chance of winning the audition. But it's still a bit luck-based, as you can get all good appeals and still lose...

It doesn't even play the song that you're using in your idol adventure, iirc. The 30 seconds is an instrumental short remake of "Hello!!"

BT2:
To add to TweenDoriru's post, you'll start with full interest bar of 90%, but it'll drop with a speed based on your stats; better stats is lesser decline.
To raise the bar you use an appeal like mentioned before.
The percentage you have left at the end of an audition is the chance you'll win.
Because the minimum and maximum you can get are 10 and 90% respectively, you can lose an audition with a full bar as well as winning one with an empty bar.
