Casual scores for a casual game.

I can tell this game didn't even provide as much hype as the others have before their releases, despite all the surprises thrown in.

the critics complain how quick and unappealing the auditions are, how the new change of not being a producer anymore is very hard to get used to if you played the previous titles; gives you a painful nostalgia feeling when seeing 765 idols, how basically the game and its aspects are pretty much made for girls; its a very very girly game, and how lesson, promotion, audition- gets very repetative, also how the characters are just low resolution sprites with only the eyes and mouth moving; the mouth only moves in one shape.

while the pros are:
great voice acting, the 3 idols character personalities are very appealing and unusual, great singing and the new songs are nice and addictive, the graphics for the stage performances are well made; good graphics considering the DS, great for someone who wants to try something new to the im@s series.

like nowano said, its a side story, also some aspects of it are a 'what if' story as well.
the game has nothing to do with the psp version, nor the xbox version.
making it feel like as if the game took place after SP, 961 idols have quit and joined 765 productions, also the 765 idols never had a producer and reached top idol on their own, as well as some strong changes in character personalities.

PSP "THE DOLM@STER SP" 7/8/8/8 Total: 31
DS  "THE DOLM@STER Dearly Stars" 7/8/8/7 Total: 30

So...essentially, the DS game only ranked lower than the SP one? o.o Wow.

I guess their handheld games are doing pretty well! I guess they don't have to worry about having just handheld games "active" (though, SP is the only one that'll be recieving monthly DLC, huh?)

If it were me, I would've ranked both of the handheld ones lower for not having duo/trio performance ability XD

but, basically...the DS game is hard to play if you've been a fan from the beginning?

they're ranking in ds games category not overall.
obviously the xbox titles are way better, i mean come on, they would be fired for giving a higher rating.

so as a DS game, its pretty good in their opinion.

so what's Sakurai's role in the game  ???

"aidoru wo, sakurai yumeko wo, yoroshiku desu"?
She's a role model idol, maybe? Or a playable one! nah, wishful thinking.

What's the speech bubble say?
"ラブとか夢とか言っている場合ではありませんっ!"
"It is not the time to talk about love or dream! "

The first sentence is the main point of the speech bubble.
Some people interpret this sentence as a challenge to 2 other games lol.

Love---> Love Plus
Dream---> Dream Club

(editeditedit) whoa. Looking closer at the article...Ai finds out Ryo's a boy and tells Eri? :o Well...I'm guessing from the screenshots, anyway.
H4 provided a good review of the story below  :)

Maybe Eri knew and Ai found out that she likes him...  just some wishful thinking.

That would be the most amazing thing that happened.  srsly.

and lol, Silly Ai.  I'm surprised they actually don't recognize him so easily... (He is just a bit more... flat and has glasses)

actually this is the story
a funny cycle
ryo-kun is being chased around by ai, goes to work one day and talks to ai about how ryo-san has a stalker, but does not say that the stalker is ai, infact its against production policy to reveal ryo being a boy;  ai asks around and visits ryo-san's school but sees ryo-kun and mistakes him for the stalker. thinking ryo-kun as a stalker to the point of being obsessed with ryo-san to even have the same hair style she takes him as a stalker.
kind of funny and ironic no?

I think the review ratings for the IM@S Dearly Stars was good.. ;D

So, Ai doesn't have a clue huh? Dense much? Oh well, I think that makes Ai (and her interactions with Ryo) more interesting. XD

I know the Iron Eyes will guide me!

tried to make a rom out of the DS game to put it into my DSi flash card.... its 2G aka 256MB
so i gave up, almost all DS games are 20-50MB. Theres an import gamestore in my area taking preorders on dearly stars and will cost 69.99 + tax, but i'd rather save that money for halo ODST :K

Well, what can you expect with the stuff put into it? Many games that have the same filesize are either way-too-long-to-finish-in-one-night types or bombarded with various stuff to make the game experience more pleasing (which is the case of iM@S DS).

iM@S DS relation chart thingy, stolen borrowed from the internet.

Note, ignore the bad quality and crappy translation, the thing's done poorly with MS Paint and I didn't feel like spending too much time on this thing.
