For those who already have the game (probably only one person), does the game work on a DS Lite? I just want to make sure before purchasing my own copy. :D

Games stores receive their games two weeks early, and Spin-fusion being a private owned business they can sell games before the release date, and corporate game stores like Gamestop and EB games can't because they have a contract with the corporation. Thats how you got halo 3 a week before release. Hyper Game also has the DS game in stock across Sawtelle Plaza in East LA, dont know if they're selling it though."

Yes it does, the game is region free. But if you want to play it on DSi for DSi features, you're going to need a japanese DSi because DSi's are region locked.
