As I understand it, each of the idols is paired up with his/her own mentor or moral support character.
Ryo has the 876 manager Okamoto, who knows Ritsuko from before.
Eri has Ozaki, the freelance producer who discovered Eri's talents.
Ai has her mother. Good luck.
Contrary to most people, it seems, I didn't like Alive at all. I usually don't like the slow songs, and this one was not good even compared to other slow ones. But to each his/her own, and at least it's true that Ai-chan sounded a little better than she did before. :)
Eri's performance of Hello!! was very good I thought. Voice-wise she's already among my favourites out of all the idols.

Just to reitierate the info so far:
Eri's support is Ozaki Reiko, Eri's screen name while a net idol was Ellie. Unless Eri has a secret Perfect Blue like plot going on she is the least hyped of the three idols.
Ai's support is her Mother who also gave birth to Ai at a very young age. (The thing that pops up in my head is if Nozomi Tsuji, of former Mini Moni fame, daughter becomes a pop star later in life ><)
Ryo's support is Okamoto Nami who seems to just playing by ear the situation with Ryo. From what I see Ryo is just a victim of circumstance and hasn't realy thought how being the girliest of girl's will prove your masculinety.
