As someone who loves CSGO for actual game itself and always felt extremely uncomfortable with the gambling aspect, I knew something like this was gonna happen and I can't help but say "I told you so" to all the people who doubted that the gambling sector was gonna go up in flames in one giant shitstorm.

I really do feel like Valve could have prevented this whole situation whole going down had they either explicitly banned gambling and created measures to block it from occurring, or provided some kind of official regulated way to do so. Then again, I'm fairly sure their laissez faire attitude wasn't born out of ignorance of the shady ass market but because they wanted to reap the profits of a gambling business without having to pay taxes or go through gambling laws and shit.

Not really much to say other than that tbh. TmarTn, ProSyndicate and their associates are shitbags and Valve's "the market will solve itself" approach to regulating Steam trades allowed a shitty grey market to become this big before it blew up in everyone's faces.
