Hello, guys! This is nikorai and I’m here to present once again my Translation Project for
Idolm@ster Live for You Original Anime DVD Bundled Version

I know that many of you here run your own translation projects. I thought that I’m not much worse and I could perhaps give it a try myself.
If you missed my posts at the old forums here the short summary of past events.
I started to work on the translation of the anime back in November, 2008. The reason for that was that the fansubs released for this OVA were quite poorly done. I intended to release my own version quite quickly but the script turned out to be quite difficult for my level of Japanese. In fact, I couldn’t make out 3 lines and my English needed translation-check and stylistic editing. Looking for people interested in this was taking quite some time. Then I understood that making the subtitles for the anime alone and leaving the rest of the videos is not a good idea. Since the disc is old the only reasonable way to attract attention was to come up with translation of the whole DVD which was not done before.
Translating the Danketsu video wasn’t too difficult but it still needs editing.
The most difficult part was to translate the live show where it’s very hard to make out what they’re saying. I even turned to a translation agency for help and they did indeed made some 50% of the script correct but failed on the whole to catch Japanese and they didn’t even take money for their work. So I continued to work of the script for the live show. It was already March. I also had an eye surgery scheduled on April. So I had the surgery and it was successful but the recovery and treatment after that took 3 months on the whole. So I couldn’t effectively work on my translation.
Also I needed someone to correct the script for me but nobody was around for quite some time.
Then last week I got extremely lucky to get in touch with a native speaker of Japanese who I found at animesuki forums. He kindly agreed to check the script for me. When I got the text back I couldn’t believe my eyes. What I thought to be an OK text was in fact plain wrong. For the last few days I was revising the translation once again and as a result I re-wrote about half of the lines for over 70 pages of text.
What I have now is divided into
3 sections.1. The video rip will be redone.a. 「L4U!オリジナルアニメ」本編

Translated for the first time in history. Thanks to mendokusa-san’s help the script has turned from Mostly Wrong to Mostly Right.
Since every line of the script is translated I updated the version to #1.0. Of course, it doesn’t mean the translation is 100% accurate (my estimate is 98% correct).
Other files include:

http://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/r8hi2aUnfortunately for now I only have a test version for it. I call it version #0.6.
It has typesetting but misses karaoke. Also, the original Japanese needs to be removed (covered).

I contacted a penpal of mine who did timing for the anime. He got the script and now he’s putting it into the subtitle form. I hope to make him finish the job in a few days.
Updatedhttp://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/wr1cirWhat I ask you now guys is to lend me the translation for the 20-second long karaoke clips. You’ll save me a lot of time and effort and you’ll be credited as authors of the project.
Also, all the English text I came up with needs checking and editing. Last time when Ryuukikun-san checked the script for the anime he went through the first part, corrected some inconsistencies, then said that ‘the script was crap’ and left me with that.
I still hope that the whole set of files can finally be repacked and put to torrents at last.
I’ll make sure to keep you updated and upload the latest subtitles that I get for this.
